The role:

This is an opportunity for an experienced immigration lawyer to take ownership of a varied and demanding caseload, working directly with a broad range of clients including private clients, corporations, SMEs, high-net-worth individuals and family offices. Our client base spans established household names, fast-growing tech businesses, high profile VIPs and private individuals, offering exposure to the full spectrum of UK immigration work (including appeals).

You will manage matters end-to-end, from initial instruction through to resolution, exercising legal judgment, strategic thinking and a high level of personal responsibility. While the role is predominantly transactional, it requires a strong advisory mindset and a commitment to delivering work that is not only technically correct, but thoughtfully structured and client focused.

This is a role for someone comfortable operating independently, managing volume without compromising quality, and taking ownership of outcomes. You will be supported by Managers and have administrative support. There will also be opportunities to participate in business development, firm-wide initiatives, government liaison and pro bono work as appropriate.

What your day will look like:

Client ownership & advisory work

  • Managing and developing client relationships, including high-value private clients and sensitive/VIP matters
  • Acting as the primary point of contact on allocated corporate client accounts, providing legal and strategic immigration advice, with senior support as required
  • Advising across the full range of UK immigration issues, including sponsored and unsponsored work routes, sponsorship compliance, nationality applications, risk management and strategic planning
  • Leading client calls, drafting detailed written advice and guiding clients through complex decisions

Casework & technical delivery

  • Managing a substantial and varied caseload with efficiency, structure and attention to detail
  • Taking full responsibility for a portfolio of immigration matters, including (but not limited to):
    • Global Talent (Arts Council/Tech Nation work)
    • Skilled Worker
    • ILR and naturalisation
    • Family migration
    • Visit visas
    • Administrative reviews and immigration appeals
  • Drafting, reviewing and submitting high-quality visa applications and representations
  • Conducting legal research and applying it confidently to client matters
  • Ensuring all applications are accurate, well-evidenced and strategically presented

Case management & working methodology

  • Maintaining impeccably organised case files
  • Implementing a disciplined, structured approach to case progression and utilising the firm’s case management software and systems
  • Project-managing all workstreams flowing from a client instruction, coordinating junior colleagues and administrative support to ensure a seamless process

Team leadership & supervision

  • Supervising, mentoring and training junior colleagues, including reviewing their work and supporting their development
  • Providing guidance on case strategy, drafting and procedural issues
  • Contributing to a team culture that values accuracy, structure, accountability and pride in work

Financial & firm responsibilities

  • Preparing files for billing, managing WIP and contributing to accurate billing (including time recording) and reporting
  • Participating in client reviews, report preparation, presentations and training sessions
  • Contributing to business development and the firm’s wider initiatives, including profile-raising activities and pro bono work
  • Demonstrating professionalism, discretion and a solution-focused approach in all interactions

We specialise in assisting private clients with their UK immigration matters, with particular focus on Innovator visas, Global Talent (Tech Nation), Visitor visas, British citizenship, UK Expansion Workers, Appeals, Settlement and complex, discretionary applications. Our clients include ultra-high net worth individuals, family offices, investors, artists/creative talent, entrepreneurs and SMEs, C suite executives, students and families.

What we are looking for:

Essential criteria:

  • A UK-qualified Solicitor (England & Wales) with substantive UK immigration experience, ideally including a strong private client element. You should be comfortable managing matters independently, advising across both corporate and private clients directly and maintaining high standards in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Demonstrates strong technical competence, coupled with sound judgement and the confidence to take responsibility for decisions.
  • Takes full ownership of matters, managing cases from instruction through to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Maintains exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, ensuring all work is carefully checked and presented to a consistently high standard.
  • Is highly organised and methodical, maintaining clear, structured case files, timelines and checklists, and having a precise understanding of the status of every matter under their care.
  • Is confident and professional in client-facing situations, able to communicate legal advice clearly, calmly and concisely to a range of stakeholders.
  • Builds trusted client relationships, acting as a reliable and proactive point of contact
  • Works autonomously while collaborating effectively with the wider team, knowing when to escalate issues and when to proceed independently.
  • Demonstrates adaptability and resilience, remaining composed and solutions-focused under pressure and changing priorities.
  • Produces high-quality written work, including detailed advice emails, representations and client correspondence, with clarity and precision.
  • Has strong commercial awareness, including an understanding of billing, WIP management and the broader client relationship.
  • Supports and develops junior colleagues, providing guidance, feedback and supervision where appropriate.
  • Approaches work with professionalism, discretion and integrity, earning the confidence of clients and colleagues alike.
  • Is proactive, self-motivated and solutions-driven, with a positive mindset and pride in the quality of their work.
