A Brief Overview
The Imaging Operations Analyst will oversee the review and optimization of patient schedules across Imaging Services, supporting all major modalities as needed. This role is responsible for identifying scheduling gaps, improving appointment flow, and ensuring efficient utilization of imaging resources. The Analyst will collaborate closely with modality teams to enhance patient access, streamline scheduling processes, and support operational continuity in alignment with departmental goals.

What you will do

  • Review, analyze, and optimize daily and future patient schedules across CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine to identify open slots, scheduling gaps, and inefficiencies, ensuring maximum scanner utilization and improved patient access.
  • Collaborate with modality leads, technologists, and Patient Access teams to implement scheduling adjustments that reduce machine downtime, balance workload distribution, and support departmental volume targets.
  • Monitor real-time schedule performance, proactively troubleshooting issues such as appointment delays, cancellations, or modality-specific bottlenecks, and initiating corrective actions to maintain workflow continuity.
  • Generate and interpret operational reports related to patient throughput, cancellation/no-show trends, scheduling patterns, and capacity utilization, providing insights and recommendations to leadership to inform process improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy within scheduling systems by validating appointment details, verifying clinical requirements (e.g., prep instructions, safety screenings), and supporting adherence to institutional policies and compliance standards.
  • Partner with Radiology Scheduling (RSC) and Imaging leadership to design and refine scheduling standards, templates, and protocols that enhance patient experience, streamline access, and align with equipment availability, staffing resources, and departmental goals.
  • Provide appointment reminders to patients to ensure engagement, improve preparation compliance, and reduce missed appointments.
  • Provides administrative and project support through data reconciliation, reporting, and process improvement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness and alignment with departmental goals.
  • Regularly review modality specific and/or site specific schedules to identify and address open slots, scheduling gaps, or inefficiencies.
  • Make necessary adjustments to schedules to ensure optimal resource utilization and patient access.


Education Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED High school diploma required
  • Associates Degree preferred


Experience Qualifications

  • One (1) year of customer service experience, preferably in a healthcare setting or other clinical environment or three (3) years of clerical experience required.
  • Previous staffing or scheduling experience in imaging, MRI, and/or CT strongly preferred.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Plans, coordinates, and participates in the performance of varied and responsible work in the administration, project administration and operation of specialized programs or projects.
  • Provides varied and complex project administrative support and technical assistance to managerial staff including reconciliation and monitoring, report preparation and conducting preliminary analyses.
  • Intermediate computer skills (Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and cross-cultural competency.
  • Ability to provide customer service, solve problems, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to adjust communications to fit the needs and level of understanding of the receiver.
  • Navigate complex software tools and accurately input data.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work independently with attention to detail and deadlines.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $35.14 - $44.79 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
