Job Summary: THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a ILLUSTRATOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1605P01 and is part of the NCNG PAO, National Guard (JFHQ - PAO / MD 1210-413).

Major Duties:

  • As a ILLUSTRATOR (Amend 1), GS-1020-07, you will Create visual products covering a broad range of subject matter areas; execute illustrations to make a written text attractive and interesting, to enhance or symbolize an idea that has been described in words, to produce an emotional effect, or to present information that cannot be expressed adequately in words alone; provide web design recommendations, create content, and layout based on DoD, NGB, NCNG and industry guidelines; create visual products for websites and print; plan the visual aspects of publications, exhibits, websites, social media or presentations where the general format and specific themes to be illustrated are predetermined; select the appropriate visual media that will best represent the facts to be presented; receive statistical information, personnel data, or general descriptions of information to be visually depicted; create graphs, charts, and diagrams in the form of slides, displays, computer graphics, or hard copy; produce digital video clips for use with electronic presentations to support Community Relations, Command information programs and media relations campaigns; support the VI shop in the design and maintenance of NCNG webs it and corresponding social media sites in accordance with NCNG Public Affairs Office guidance, using state of the art web design tools to provide a site that is easy to use and informative; control, sets up and operates multimedia equipment for presentations, conferences, ceremonies, etc.; this includes portable and fixed sound systems, 35mm projectors, video projection systems, lighting, satellite systems, video output devices, audio output devices, and computer systems; create, edit, export and import vector images through the use of illustration software; does color correction of computer graphic images using photo-editing software; Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Military Grades: Enlisted (E2 to E8) or Officer (2LT to MAJ) Minimum Requirements: Experience, education, or training performing work in operating still, television (video), or motion picture cameras, and in processing photographic film and negatives. Knowledge of equipment, techniques, and processes of photography, knowledge of subject matter to be photographed, and/or selecting, arranging, and lighting subjects or in processing work. Experience using computer and automation systems. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: (Must have at least 12 months) experience, education, or training using photographic camera equipment. Experience conducting tests on photo materials. Experience in background work or assisting with projects that require the use of special equipment. Experience in specialized photography requirements, such as high-speed cameras, special films, or other specialized equipment. Experience completing assignments requiring unusually high degrees of detail, critical timing, or critical focus.
