ROLE SUMMARY
The International IDM Vaccines Medical and Scientific Affairs, Sr Medical Director, will contribute to the strategy and implementation of Pfizer vaccine in the region by responsibly exploring novel initiatives and providing expertise during participation in cross-functional team meetings with focus on medical positioning, competitive environment analysis and medical content to be use in Vaccines data dissemination.
A large focus of this role as a Vaccines Medical and Scientific Affairs, Sr Medical Director will be to provide strategic input into a cross-functional groups by ensuring an aligned global medical position on scientific, medical and evidence generation issues relevant for Pfizer Vaccines, working in a cross-functional integration with different stakeholders (commercial, patient & health impact, value and evidence, VRD, market development, business analytics & insights, content and education and public affairs Teams -among others-) at the global, regional and local levels; coordinating work and strategies where appropriate with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and external scientists; participating on value messages creation, medical to medical material development and dissemination, monthly literature update and competitive environment analysis
The International IDM Vaccines Medical and Scientific Affairs, Sr Medical Director will be responsible for reviewing safety and effectiveness aspects of Vaccines in medical materials, publications, and interactions with KOLs.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, adapt, and execute the Vaccine medical strategies for International IDM region, to support, advance and accelerate country specific medical asset needs.
Represent IDM /International voice at GMAT and global medical/global commercial working groups.
This position should be capable to contribute with any vaccine assets where her/his seniority and experience will be valuable and according to markets priorities.
Create and deliver approved medical content about Pfizer products and relevant topics in the designated therapeutic area focusing on those stakeholders and customers involved in vaccine decision making and implementation.
Identify medical/scientific/ evidence generation gaps and opportunities at Key International countries and provide guidance on adaptation of innovative solutions such as novel RWD/RWE, generative AI based scientific innovations and engagement across medical affairs initiative to accelerate medical asset strategy.
Work within a matrixed, multi-disciplinary team to foster strong Pfizer/customer professional relationships which are aligned with Pfizer Medical objectives.
Partner with Public and Corporate Affairs to expand Pfizer Vaccines footprint with large external stakeholders, e.g., Association of Immunization Managers, Professional Societies, Medical Affairs Professionals Society.
Brand Plan Development:
Provide medical, Scientific and RWE input into global brand strategies and tactics ensuring regional medical needs are met.
Develop and implement an effective overarching medical/scientific RWE strategy in collaboration with scientific affairs for EM countries, to optimize asset value and improved patient outcomes.
Customer Insight Planning: Develop, plan, and implement Customer Insight Plans including:
Advisory Boards to gather expert guidance to advise medical and RWE planning. Provide regional input into global Advisory Board planning, support implementation and presentations (as needed).
Brand Expert Panels to seek guidance on product positioning and related issues.
Partner cross-functionally within medical to ensure aligned KOLs activities to gather feedback and input into strategy development and execution.
Materials Development & Review:
Provide medical leadership for concept development and review of different medical, materials (educational and training materials). Partner with platforms partners, legal and regulatory colleagues to ensure compliant and accurate content.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Preference is for robust experience in vaccine-related or vaccine-preventable disease related medical affairs/scientific affairs/RWE and data generation activities. The candidate should have an advanced degree and additional training in one or more of the following areas: infectious disease, public health, epidemiology, vaccinology, clinical development, or closely related field. Specific qualifications will include:
Advanced scientific/healthcare degree required (MD, PharmD, PhD, MS, etc.)
BA/BSc, MBA/MS, PharmD/PhD minimum; or MD with extensive relevant experience in the healthcare/pharmaceutical sector
Significant related Vaccines Medical Affairs experience pharmaceutical industry with broad expertise managing Vaccines portfolio, RWE, regulatory, safety risk management and others. Local medical experience in IDM is not mandatory but preferred.
Able to review and assess the safety aspects of Vaccines in promotional materials, publications, and interactions with KOLs.
Demonstrated ability to create and articulate medical strategies while also understanding how to tailor those global strategies for specific country needs.
Ability to discuss deeply the scientific evidence of Vaccines, including vaccine related commercial and regulatory issues.
Ability to take relevant non-interventional retrospective RWE/epidemiology project from start to end including conception, design, protocol, analytic plan, analysis, and reporting and interpretation of results.
Able to review, evaluate, interpret, and present complex vaccine, RWE and epidemiological data.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including scientific writing skills.
Demonstrated experienced writing manuscripts, including lead or senior authorship on 5 or more peer-reviewed publications.
Proactive, pragmatic, flexible person with excellent leadership qualities, strategic thinking, communication & presentation skills
Strong interpersonal skills.

Experience on mRNA Vaccine technology desired, but not mandatory.
Able to set priorities and manage cross-functional teams and complex projects to deliver milestones according to set budgets.
Proven ability to influence and succeed through collaborations and to form excellent relationships with key cross-functional stakeholders.
Demonstrated strong work ethics, and proven track record of delivering high quality results within timelines and budgets.
Knowledgeable of the commercial and environmental issues that drive vaccine development projects.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Willingness to travel through the region is a requirement.

This role will have IDM /Europe region scope and will be working in alignment with Medical Affair leads, Country Medical Directors and Vaccines organization from local to global teams. Therefore, the organizational relation includes working/interacting with Teams from International Vaccine Medical Leads, Country Medical Directors, Global Bacterial Vaccine steam members, Global Viral Vaccines team members; internal and external epidemiology and vaccinology experts and top KOLs; country vaccine leads; country managers and medical, commercial, clinical research, GAV, regulatory, safety and public affairs functional areas within Pfizer.
