The ID Bureau is seeking a candidate to assist with positive identification, data entry, and technical tasks related to collecting, entering, maintaining, and utilizing electronic information in support of criminal justice agencies and the general public. This is a critical role that helps meet law enforcement and public needs in a 24/7 operation, including weekends and holidays.

The regular schedule for this position is Wednesday through Saturday, from 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM. Applicants must be flexible and available to cover additional shifts as needed to ensure adequate staffing. The role requires working 10-hour shifts, which may include evenings, midnights, and other shifts based on operational needs.

Purpose of the position:

The purpose of this position is to perform technical work to collect, enter, maintain, and utilize electronic information in support of criminal justice agencies and the general public in a 24/7 operation..

Minimum Education, Training and/or Experience (required at time of hire): High School or equivalent and one (1) year of experience in data entry and/or criminal justice; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Essential Functions of the position:

  • Enter and maintain accurate data for criminal justice agencies and Emergency Services in a timely and professional manner; provide data to agencies.

  • Create and maintain electronic data within the Records Management System (RMS) in relation to biographical, physical location information and county-wide pawn activity, transfers information from local criminal justice agencies, institutions, and state system to RMS.

  • Create and maintain in real time all bookings into the Jail Management System (JMS).

  • Provide help and information to customers at front counter applying for Pistol Purchase permits, Concealed Carry permits, fingerprints, criminal record checks, etc.

  • Capture civilian and law enforcement fingerprints, using both ink and electronic methods.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Knowledge of inputting data into a computerized system.

  • Knowledge of comparing and identifying master name information.

  • Knowledge of databased information systems.

  • Skill to communicate orally and electronically.

  • Skill to exercise good judgment in a demanding situation.

  • Skill to use social skills involved with dealing with people in a potentially high stress situation/environment.

  • Skill in data entry.

  • Ability to work in a 24/7 environment including holidays.

  • Ability to work effectively with co-workers and others in a close setting.

  • Ability to manipulate data within a computerized database.

  • Ability to create and maintain electronic data and information within the CJIS system.

  • Ability to grow professionally as systems and technology changes.
