About the role
Highly motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurses (RN) with a minimum 18-month post registration acute ward experience, who are interested in a career in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for our exciting ‘Transition to ICU’ (TIC) Program
12 month program to support your transition into ICU and fast track your development. ICU orientation and education, followed by 2 week supernumerary and 4 weeks preceptorship.
Program consists of 2 x 6 month rotations between cardiothoracic/transplant and general/neuro/trauma ICU specialties, together with ongoing employment at the program completion.
Supported simultaneously to complete the NSW ICU Transition to Specialty Practice Program (TTSP) over the initial 12 months of employment.
Requires a commitment to complete the associated capability assessments within the program period which is equivalent to our ICU's Novice and Advanced Beginner Level 1A skills and competencies.
Successful candidates will need to be available to commence on Monday 22nd June 2026.
About you
Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency.
Minimum of 18 months post registration acute ward experience as a registered nurse.
Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in your daily practice.
Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team using effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads within a complex environment.
