Amentum is supporting the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) in providing specialized training, advisory and mentoring services to host nations under the Criminal Division’s International Criminal Investigative Training and Assistance Program (ICITAP). https://www.justice.gov/criminal-icitap.

Amentum is the contract service provider to the DOJ ICITAP and Overseas Prosecutorial Development, Assistance and Training (OPDAT) programs.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Amentum is currently seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a global Curriculum Development/Instructor Subject Matter Expert (SME). This position will be responsible for producing and/or delivering curricula tailored specifically to the educational needs of the target audience, foreign law enforcement and criminal justice entities.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Analyzes, designs, develops, and/or delivers curriculum course materials including instructional plans, exercises, evaluations, activities, job aids, and all other required materials, in accordance with company/client requirements.
- Assists in the institutionalization of development efforts within the host nation counterparts.
- Based upon research and evaluation results, determine what is to be taught, manner of instruction, necessary materials and logistics, appropriate target audience, and testing/evaluation processes for each course of instruction.
- Recommend instructional methods such as individual or group instruction, self-study, lectures, demonstrations, simulation exercises and role-playing appropriate for content and learner characteristics.
- Develop and write curriculum that includes, at a minimum, the following formats:
- Course outlines
- Course syllabi
- Lesson plans
- Classroom activities
- PowerPoint presentations
- Multimedia supplemental materials such as webinars, etc.
- Participate and facilitate, as directed, curriculum review and subject matter advisory meetings.
- Bases training solutions on current and anticipated tactical, operational, and strategic threats.
- Applies comprehensive knowledge of criminal justice, commercial, and innovative educational techniques to the process.
- Observes courses and conducts analysis to evaluate effectiveness of training to support continued maintenance of curriculum course materials.
- Supervises, coordinates, provides leadership to, and reviews the work of assigned staff and Subject Matter Expert (SME) contributors.
- Maintains appropriate curriculum development and instructional records.
- Coordinate with other U.S. Government agencies and other governments and international donors providing law enforcement and criminal justice development assistance to the host nation agencies and work with these representatives to advance the goals and objectives of the program.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Significant experience in the development and delivery of investigations training or related curricula
- Proven performance applying a wide range of technical and Instructional Systems Design (ISD) principles, theories, and concepts.
- Working under only general direction, provides technical solutions to a wide range of training development and execution projects.
- Independently determines and develops approaches to solutions.
- Exhibits excellent writing skills and demonstrates mastery of grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Expert with all Microsoft Programs.
- Exhibits a high degree of attention to detail while designing, developing, and editing course products.
- Capable of working under tight deadlines and managing tasks through to successful completion.
- Able to work well with SMEs in a group or independently with minimum supervision.
- Clearable: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Waiver.
- Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Public Trust Waiver.
- Clearable: Third Country National candidates for this position will not need to be clearable as Third Country Nationals
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master Instructor certification preferred. Formal curriculum development training and experience is highly desired.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Criminal Justice, Homeland Security, Education, Information and Learning, Adult Learning, Instructional Design, or related fields from a US Department of Education accredited institution.
- Proven knowledge of international judicial models and institution building.
