Ice Protection System Project Leader (M/F)

Job Description:

Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for an Ice Protection System Project Leader (m/f) to join our Design office in Toulouse, France. 

You will join an international, diverse and empowered team working on a broad range of systems and products (Detection, Protection for Wing and Nacelle, engine icing…) aiming to :

  • Maintain in-service and implement necessary evolutions of detection and protection systems against icing environment

  • Define new detection and protection systems adapted to future programmes

Your Challenges:

  • Participate in the definition of Airbus “SLD strategy”: the multi-year action plan of Airbus internal and external activities aiming to prepare the ground for aircraft development and demonstration compliant to CS25 Appendix O. This will include discussion with multiple internal stakeholders as well as external partners (other OEMs, suppliers, certification authorities, research organisations) 

  • Coordination of project(s) identified in the roadmap : state-funded, European and/or self-funded projects including several external partners.

  • Leading internal activities supporting the projects and ensuring synchronisation with internal stakeholders (future programmes Ice Protection System design teams, Method and Tools, certification specialists, architects...) 

Activities are conducted in close contact with other engineering teams : Aerodynamics and Handling Qualities, Certification, Structure, Powerplant, Air data, …

Your boarding pass:

  • Previous significant experience in the Ice Protection domain (at least 5 years), or extensive knowledge in disciplines involved in Ice Protection Systems: Fluid dynamics (incl. multiphase flows), thermal, thermodynamic engineering

  • Interest for scientific computation and modelization

  • Demonstrated Project Management capabilities, experience in State-funded or EU Project Coordination would be a plus

  • Experience in certification activities would be a plus

  • You are dynamic, positive, curious, passionate and creative.
