Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure full implementation of the Halal Product Assurance System (HPAS) across all production processes to maintain compliance with LPPOM MUI and Unilever standards.

  • Verify and approve all raw materials, packaging, and auxiliary substances to ensure they meet halal requirements before use in production.

  • Conduct regular internal halal audits and monitoring activities to identify gaps and implement corrective actions promptly.

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date halal documentation and certification records to support regulatory inspections and certification renewals.

  • Provide training and guidance to factory teams on halal policies and procedures to build awareness and prevent non-compliance risks.

  • Register new SKUs, NPD products, and imported SKUs for halal certification in compliance with BPJPH/MUI requirements and Unilever standards.

  • Communicate and coordinate with BPJPH, MUI, and other relevant authorities to ensure timely approval and maintenance of Halal Product Assurance System (HPAS).

  • Execute emergency procedures in case of extraordinary events impacting halal compliance to safeguard product integrity and consumer trust

Experience & Qualification:

  • Must be a practicing Muslim, as required by halal supervisory regulations.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or related field.

  • Certified Halal Supervisor (Penyelia Halal) is preferable.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Regulatory, or Halal Compliance within the food or FMCG industry.

  • Strong knowledge of Halal Product Assurance System (HPAS), BPJPH/MUI regulations, and international halal standards.

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills to engage with internal teams and external authorities (BPJPH, MUI, certification bodies)

Skill:

  • Strong understanding of Halal Assurance System (HAS) and halal certification processes to ensure compliance with BPJPH/MUI and international standards.

  • Excellent communication and coordination skills for effective engagement with internal teams and external authorities.

  • Attention to detail and strong documentation skills to maintain accurate halal records and certification documents.

  • Problem-solving and decision-making ability to manage compliance issues and execute emergency procedures when needed.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

As publicly announced, it is envisaged that Unilever will internally separate its Ice Cream business by July 2025, at which point this role will transfer to the new Ice Cream company. It is expected that the Ice Cream business will then separate from Unilever by the end of 2025. Any impact on terms and conditions of employment will be communicated in due course. This proposal is subject to consultation where legally required.
