IBM BPM Developer | Process Automation, Integration, Security, and Cloud Support

Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced IBM BPM Developer to support the design, development, and deployment of complex process automation solutions within our enterprise platform. This role involves creating scalable, reliable, and secure BPM workflows in line with business needs, enhancing operational efficiency, and integrating with external systems via REST APIs. The right candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that support digital transformation and process optimization.

Software Requirements

  • Required:

    • Extensive experience with IBM BPM 8.6 (or higher) BPM process modeling and development

    • Proven expertise in developing complex Business Process Diagrams (BPDs) and process applications

    • Strong skills in IBM BPM UI frameworks and customizations

    • Experience in building integration services using IBM Integration Services and consuming REST APIs

    • Knowledge of event handling, gateways, exception management, and BPM best practices

    • Hands-on experience with Oracle RDBMS and integration of BPM with database systems

    • Familiarity with process deployment, environment setup, and version control practices

    • Ability to design and implement exception handling at process and service levels

  • Preferred:

    • Knowledge of ODM (Operational Decision Manager) integration with IBM BPM

    • Experience with BPM security practices, user provisioning, and audit trail implementations

    • Exposure to cloud deployment scenarios supporting BPM applications

Overall Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize IBM BPM process solutions supporting enterprise business operations, including derivatives, settlement, and back-office functions

  • Lead process modeling activities and develop detailed technical specifications for automation workflows

  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and operations to gather requirements and translate them into scalable BPM solutions

  • Support process migration, upgrade projects, and process customizations to improve system performance and compliance

  • Conduct system and process troubleshooting, technical reviews, and performance tuning

  • Ensure adherence to BPM and security standards, best practices, and documentation protocols

  • Provide ongoing technical guidance, mentoring, and support to team members and stakeholders

Technical Skills (By Category)

  • Programming & Process Modeling:
    Required: IBM BPM 8.6 process design, Java, and integration services
    Preferred: JavaScript for UI customization, rule design in ODM, BPM scripting languages

  • Databases & Data Management:
    Oracle RDBMS, SQL, including stored procedures, triggers, and data integration for BPM processes

  • Cloud & Containerization:
    Basic knowledge of cloud deployment practices supporting BPM applications, preferably AWS, Azure, or GCP

  • Frameworks & Libraries:
    IBM BPM Process Designer, Business Space, and related extension tools; ODM for decision management

  • Development Tools & Methodologies:
    IBM BPM Studio, Git, Jenkins, Agile/Scrum, CI/CD pipelines for deployment and environment management

  • Security & Compliance:
    Implementation of role-based access control, audit logging, and security standards aligned with enterprise policies

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting or developing process automation solutions using IBM BPM in enterprise environments

  • Proven track record of delivering complex BPM solutions for finance, banking, or similar regulated industries

  • Experience with process migrations, upgrades, and integration with external APIs and systems

  • Familiarity with cloud deployment scenarios supporting BPM applications is advantageous

Day-to-Day Activities

  • Design, develop, and maintain BPM workflows, process diagrams, and integration services

  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to gather requirements, analyze processes, and implement automation solutions

  • Conduct code and process reviews, troubleshooting, and performance tuning activities

  • Support process deployment, version control, and environment configuration tasks

  • Resolve technical issues related to BPM workflows, integration points, and system security

  • Document architecture, process models, and operational procedures to ensure compliance and knowledge sharing

  • Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience with IBM BPM process design, development, and deployment in enterprise settings

  • Certifications in IBM BPM or ODM are a plus

  • Proven experience supporting enterprise BPM solutions within regulated industries such as banking or finance
