The Hyundai Certified Technician is responsible for performing vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance in accordance with Hyundai factory standards and dealership expectations. This individual utilizes advanced diagnostic skills, Hyundai-specific systems knowledge, and technical expertise to efficiently identify and resolve vehicle concerns.
 

The Hyundai Technician works closely with the Service Advisors, Parts Department, and Service Management team to ensure an exceptional customer experience and high-quality workmanship.
 

The Hyundai Certified Technician reports directly to the Service Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance in accordance with Hyundai factory standards.
  • Complete repair orders efficiently and accurately, including warranty and customer-pay work.
  • Use Hyundai diagnostic equipment and service information systems to identify and resolve vehicle concerns.
  • Document diagnostic procedures, repair steps, and results clearly on repair orders.
  • Road test vehicles to verify concerns and ensure quality repairs.
  • Maintain proper timekeeping and meet productivity standards.
  • Properly use and return Hyundai special tools and maintain personal technician tools.
  • Keep work area clean and organized; ensure vehicles are returned clean to customers.
  • Complete required Hyundai factory training and stay current on certifications, TSBs, recalls, and service campaigns.
  • Communicate effectively with Service Advisors, Parts Department, and management.


Qualifications

  • Current Hyundai certification preferred (or ability to obtain).
  • ASE certifications preferred (Master Technician a plus).
  • 3–5+ years of automotive repair experience.
  • Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, flat-rate environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
