The Sales Executive is responsible for building, deepening, and sustaining long term relationships with institutional investors and financial intermediaries across Mexico. This role drives new business development and client retention by positioning Vanguard’s mutual funds and ETFs as core investment solutions for institutional portfolios.
Operating in a hybrid coverage model, the Sales Executive balances high impact virtual engagement with targeted in person client activity, partnering closely with a Business Development Associate to deliver a seamless and differentiated client experience. As a trusted advisor, this role represents Vanguard’s investment philosophy, capabilities, and commitment to client outcomes while navigating a dynamic regulatory and competitive landscape.
**This Hybrid Role (in office Tues Wed Thurs) is based in Mexico City, MX**
Responsibilities:
- Achieve established sales growth and client retention goals through disciplined execution of the end‑to‑end institutional sales process.
- Manage and grow relationships within assigned Mexican institutional client segments, owning planning, execution, and follow‑through for medium to high‑value clients.
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan for the Mexican institutional market, identifying new opportunities and aligning Vanguard capabilities to client needs.
- Serve as a trusted partner to clients, prospects, consultants, and industry stakeholders by clearly articulating Vanguard’s investment philosophy, products, and services through in‑person, virtual, written, and digital channels.
- Build strong, senior‑level relationships within client and prospect organizations, increasing awareness of Vanguard through targeted outreach, meetings, conferences, and industry events.
- Independently cover less complex prospects and accounts while collaborating with senior sales leaders on larger or more complex institutional relationships.
- Leverage knowledge of market trends, client needs, and competitive dynamics to effectively position Vanguard’s solutions.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the Mexican regulatory environment and ensure all activities align with applicable laws, regulations, and Vanguard’s Code of Ethics.
- Partner closely with internal stakeholders to share market insights, coordinate client support, and continuously improve the client experience.
- Contribute to special projects and broader business initiatives as needed.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience required; advanced degree preferred.
- Approximately five years of relevant professional experience, including at least three years in institutional or intermediary sales, relationship management, or a related financial services role.
- Demonstrated ability to develop senior‑level client relationships and deliver measurable sales and retention outcomes.
- CFA designation preferred.
Special Factors:
- AMIB Figure 3 license required or must be obtained within an agreed‑upon timeframe.
- Role requires periodic in‑person client meetings and attendance at industry events within Mexico.
