HW Solutions Competency Center (HWS-CC) is a central team within NXP’s Global Operations Engineering (GOE) organization responsible for design, manufacturing, compliance and supply chain operations of hardware boards.  The team provides hardware solutions to all business units within NXP through its global presence in North America, EU and Asia. Board types include end-customer, Silicon validation, system solutions, Failure Analyses, and reliability application.

The HWS-CC US R&D Manager leads engineering team responsible for designing, developing, bring-up, compliance and release to production of HW boards on time and on quality. The leader is also responsible in managing key US stakeholders from different business lines.

Key Responsibilities:

Drive Engineering Excellence: 

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the R&D team while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Provide strong technical leadership across hardware development projects—aligning with stakeholders on critical requirements, supporting engineers in issue resolution, identifying project risks, and proactively driving mitigation actions.

  • Ensure high-quality deliverables and consistent adherence to established Ways of Working.

  • Collaborate with the Global HWS‑CC R&D organization to continuously improve engineering processes, tools, and methodologies, enhancing overall efficiency and effectiveness

      Interface with US Business Line Stakeholders:

  • Act as the primary interface with U.S.-based business line stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

  • Lead regular program reviews to address challenges, clarify support needs, and identify opportunities to strengthen collaboration.

  • Maintain visibility into long-term project roadmaps to ensure team capacity and competencies can successfully support upcoming demands.

  • Expand engagements by identifying new hardware project opportunities and additional value-added support that the HWS‑CC organization can provide.

  • Ability to prioritize and lead teams in a high-pressure environment

Education and Experience:

  • Education:  BS or MS in Electronics, or Electrical Engineering

  • Must have 15+ years of industry related experience

  • Experience in direct people management and leading teams

  • Technical knowledge in Board Design highly preferred

  • Strong inter-personal and written & oral communication skills.
