Overview

Join our team as a Hardware Electrical Engineering Validation Engineer, where you will be pivotal in ensuring the integrity and functionality of emerging consumer electronics hardware. Your role will focus on validating and optimizing embedded systems, with a strong emphasis on electrical engineering aspects, including complex debugging and troubleshooting. You will apply your expertise with high-speed interfaces, lab testing equipment, and scripting to enhance the quality and performance of our cutting-edge technology. Your contributions will directly influence design improvements and product excellence.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive validation and testing of embedded hardware systems, focusing on electrical engineering parameters.
  • Perform complex hardware-level debugging and troubleshooting to identify and rectify design and functional issues.
  • Debug electrical systems to ensure proper operation, signal integrity, and compliance with specifications.
  • Work with and troubleshoot MIPI interfaces, as well as I2C and SPI protocols.
  • Execute power consumption measurements utilizing current probes and other specialized tools.
  • Flash firmware images onto hardware systems during testing and debugging processes.
  • Utilize lab equipment such as Vector Network Analyzers (VNAs), MIPI analyzers, and high-speed interface tools for diagnostic testing and troubleshooting.
  • Review hardware schematics and PCB layout as part of lab debugging and optimization
  • Develop and execute exhaustive test plans based on product specifications, ensuring comprehensive coverage and accurate results.
  • Create and present detailed test reports documenting findings and providing actionable insights to influence design decisions.
  • Implement basic automation scripts using LabVIEW; Python scripting is an advantage to enhance testing efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with design teams to validate and troubleshoot hardware, contributing to iterative design improvements.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.
  • Demonstrable ability to debug and troubleshoot issues at both electrical and hardware levels.
  • Familiarity with MIPI, I2C, and SPI protocols and interfaces.
  • Proficiency in utilizing lab test equipment and performing hands-on testing.
  • Experience with lab equipment used for characterization of high speed interfaces, such as VNA.
  • Competence in analyzing power consumption and ensuring signal integrity.
  • Familiarity with schematics and PCB layout tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in electrical engineering design, enhancing the ability to identify and resolve complex hardware issues.
  • Familiarity with advanced MIPI protocol analysis and signal integrity testing methods.
  • Previous hands-on experience with developing and executing complex electrical validation protocols.
  • Knowledge of scripting for test automation and data analysis, specifically in LabVIEW; Python preferred.
  • Previous experience in PCB design and layout
CA Base Pay
$130,000$175,000 USD
