Position Summary

The HVAC & Utilities Supervisor is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and supervision of industrial HVAC systems within manufacturing facilities. This role focuses on large-scale air handling systems, dehumidification equipment, and mechanical utilities, with limited design responsibility and a strong emphasis on equipment reliability and team leadership.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise operation and maintenance of industrial HVAC systems, including:
    • Central plant and factory air conditioning systems
    • Air Handling Units (AHU) and make-up air units
    • Desiccant Dehumidification Units (DHU)
  • Manage mechanical systems related to HVAC, including piping, ductwork, and associated equipment.
    Lead and develop a growing HVAC team, including engineers and technicians.
  • Ensure HVAC systems meet production, environmental, and safety requirements.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repairs.
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and HVAC schematics.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and optimization of HVAC equipment.
  • Collaborate with facilities, production, and EHS teams to support plant operations.
  • Maintain documentation, SOPs, and maintenance records for HVAC systems.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with industrial HVAC systems in manufacturing facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of AHUs, DHUs (desiccant dehumidification), and factory air conditioning systems.
  • Experience with mechanical systems, including piping and ductwork maintenance.
  • Practical background developed through field or technical roles.
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical and HVAC drawings.
  • Experience leading or supervising technical staff is strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in battery, electronics, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or clean manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with humidity control and process HVAC requirements.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance systems (CMMS).
  • HVAC certification or mechanical license (where applicable).

Working Conditions

  • On-site, industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on supervisory role.
  • May require on-call or shift support.

 

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $80,000 –$100,000, plus eligibility for bonus and benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by factors such as the role, level, and geographic location. Actual compensation within the range will be influenced by the specific work location, along with factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
