Our Facilities Department pays close attention to every detail, from chipping paint to malfunctioning equipment. All of their efforts help facilitate the welcome, clean and safe environment patients have come to expect at Cleveland Clinic. As a member of the HVAC team, you will gain experience working on a wide range of projects and systems, train with the newest technology and receive guidance from fellow Techs and management. While you may not interact with patients directly, your efforts will leaving a positive, lasting impression – from the moment they enter the facility to the time they return home.
A caregiver in this position works Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, second shift 1:00pm – 11:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Inspect, repair, monitor, maintain and troubleshoot Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and equipment throughout the facility (e.g., chiller systems, reheat systems, variable frequency drives (VFD), air handling units (AHU), humidifiers, dampers, heating and cooling coils, cooling towers, and pumps).
Document and maintain records of inspections and work performed.
Inspect and maintain all temperature, humidity, and data logging devices, including meters and gauges.
Utilize the Building Management System (BMS) to address customer service requests, adjust temperature set points, and start and stop equipment.
Receive and respond to work orders from the computerized maintenance management system.
Respond to alarms and alerts appropriately.
Work at additional Cleveland Clinic locations as needed.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School Diploma/GED
Valid Driver’s License (VDL) and insurable driving record
Three years of experience with chiller systems, reheat systems, variable frequency drives (VFD), air handling units (AHU), humidifiers, dampers, heating and cooling coils, cooling towers and/or pumps OR military experience as a Utilitiesman (UT), Machinists Mate (MM), HVAC/R (3E1X1), Utilities Equipment Repairer (91C) or a similar role
Understanding of the tools and techniques used to maintain, diagnose and repair HVAC systems
Basic knowledge of building management systems
Ability to read blueprints
Physical Requirements:

Ability to move/transport items weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)
Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)

Ability to install, repair and maintain systems, equipment, fixtures and/or structures

Ability to climb ladders
