HVAC Technician

What this job involves:

As an HVAC Technician at JLL, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining critical building systems that keep our clients' operations running smoothly. This role puts you in charge of comprehensive mechanical equipment maintenance, from air handling units and exhaust systems to complex HVAC infrastructure. You'll troubleshoot temperature control issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure optimal system performance across commercial properties. Working collaboratively with operations teams, you'll analyze system data, recommend improvements, and maintain detailed documentation while ensuring all work meets safety standards and regulatory compliance. What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Maintain and repair air handling units, exhaust fans, fume hoods, fan coil units, reheat coils, and other mechanical equipment
  • Respond to customer service calls for temperature control issues and provide timely troubleshooting solutions
  • Monitor and adjust refrigeration, heat exchangers, HVAC systems, boilers, pumps, valves, and related equipment
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on base building and critical HVAC systems with minimal operational disruption
  • Analyze system operations, diagnose malfunctions, and recommend corrective actions to management
  • Update work orders in real-time using CMMS systems such as SAP Facility and capture all R&M data accurately
  • Maintain comprehensive system documentation and ensure proper tool and supply management

Required qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent with HVAC technical training or certification
  • 3-5 years of commercial HVAC maintenance and repair experience
  • EPA certification for refrigerant handling
  • Knowledge of building automation systems and CMMS software operation
  • Understanding of safety procedures for hazardous material storage, usage, and disposal
  • Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

Preferred qualifications:

  • Additional certifications in boiler operation, electrical systems, or building automation
  • Experience with SAP Facility or similar computerized maintenance management systems
  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulatory compliance requirements

Estimated compensation for this position:

$25-$30 USD Hourly

This range is an estimate, and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
