ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Laboratory Technical Support
- Maintains and provides tools and equipment, performs diagnostic service and minor repairs, and performs other functions to support applied technology laboratory.
- Stores tools following use. Cleans tools, equipment and floor. Cleans and maintains lab area. Opens and closes Lab at shift end and ensures equipment is stored in proper location to secure HVAC Technology Lab. Maintains and updates inventory of tools, special service kits, and equipment and stock items.
- Ensures tools, equipment and training aids are functional, operational and performs needed diagnostic service and minor repairs. Notifies supervisor(s) when tools and equipment replacement is necessary.
- Utilizes College approved contractors to ensure proper handling of hazardous materials. Obtains and returns training materials, sets up training aids and equipment.
Classroom Support
- Assists instructors and students in lab exercises as requested. Opens/closes/monitors labs outside of class for additional student access. Answers routine questions, provides general information and performs duties as assigned to maintain good public and student relations. Performs routine maintenance and upkeep for labs and facilities.
Administrative
- Monitors the lab’s inventory and tools. Creates and maintains a list of materials and tools that need to be ordered for every semester. Keeps accurate records. Completes and maintains required documentation, including inventory reports, work orders, and requisitions.

- Fosters and maintains a safe environment of respect and inclusion for faculty, staff, students, and members of the community.
Other duties as required.
*Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is required.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- High School Degree or GED with technical or vocational construction training.
- 1 to 3 years of progressively responsible experience in various construction trades.
- State Motor Vehicle Operator's License or demonstrable ability to gain access to work site(s).
- Forklift Operator Certification.
- EPA 608 Universal certification
- *An appropriate combination of education, training, coursework, and experience may qualify a candidate.
