HUMINT Targeting Specialist - Subject Matter Expert (HTS SME)

SMX is seeking a HUMINT Targeting Specialist - Subject Matter Expert (HTS SME) to join our growing team of Mission Support Experts.

This position requires a DoD TS/SCI security clearance which requires US citizenship for work on DoD contracts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the identification and development of high-value targets (HVIs) and threat networks in support of specialized military objectives and unconventional warfare
  • Conduct advanced nodal analysis and human terrain mapping to identify vulnerabilities within adversary leadership, logistics, and communications structures
  • Serve as a primary driver of the Find, Fix, Finish, Exploit, Analyze, and Disseminate cycle, ensuring HUMINT collection is synchronized with tactical strike operations
  • Collaborate with collection managers to develop specialized HUMINT requirements that fill critical intelligence gaps identified during the targeting process
  • Provide technical targeting data to assist in the validation and vetting of human sources to ensure the integrity of the collection enterprise
  • Evaluate Raw Intelligence Reports (IIRs) for targeting relevance and provides actionable feedback to field collectors to refine placement and access

Required Skills & Experience

  • Required clearance: TS/SCI
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of intelligence experience, with at least five (5) years specifically dedicated to HUMINT targeting supporting specialized task forces or elite mission command
  • Expert-level knowledge of HVI/Network targeting methodologies, Social Network Analysis (SNA), and the integration of technical and human intelligence
  • Graduate of a recognized advanced targeting course, such as the Joint HUMINT Analysis and Targeting Course (JHATC) or the Targeting Network Analysis Course (TNAC)
  • Mastery of targeting tools and databases, including Palantir, Analyst Notebook, HOT-R, CHROME, and biometric identity systems
  • Deep understanding of the legal authorities and policy constraints governing sensitive military operations, including Title 10 and Title 50 distinctions
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex network data into concise, actionable target nomination packets and briefings for Senior Executive and Flag Officer level leadership
  • Comprehensive understanding of the full intelligence cycle, from initial requirement generation to post-operation exploitation and analysis

The proposed salary for this position is:
$98,000$138,000 USD
