Job Summary: The Office of Human Resources (EXHR) provides the full-range of HR programs: staffing, employee development/recognition, position/pay management, personnel records, employee/labor relations advisory services, position classification, performance management, employee benefits/assistance, drug-free work place, workers' compensation, incentive awards, and payroll/personnel information systems.
Major Duties:
Qualifications: All applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. Qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: GS-12: 1) Experience in interpreting and applying human resources laws, principles and practices in operational functional areas (staffing, position classification, leave, and benefits); and 2) Providing advice to employees and performs operational duties on benefits such as retirement, life and health insurance, and leave and compensation. GS-13: 1) Experience in interpreting and applying human resources laws, principles and practices in two or more operational functional areas (staffing, position classification, leave, and benefits); and 2) Providing technical advice to employees and performs operational duties on benefits such as retirement, life and health insurance, and leave and compensation. Evidence of the above specialized experience must be supported by detailed documentation of duties performed in positions held. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
