Job Summary: This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity. The incumbent will serve as a senior specialist and departmental expert and recognized authority in HR Information Systems. The incumbent will also serve as lead specialist over program issues and problems of particularly high visibility and cruciality to the department.

Major Duties:

  • As a Human Resources Specialist (Information Systems) at the GS-0201-13/14 some of your typical work assignments may include: Assembling required teams, leading and overseeing participation in initiatives with DoD Component offices, OPM and contractors, as required. Monitor the performance of the primary Civilian Human Resource Management Information Technology (CHRM IT) Portfolio operations, maintenance, and sustainment contractor to ensure schedules are met, requirements are fully addressed, and problems and system change requests are resolved. Providing functional, technical and contracting/regulatory oversight on all matters related to CHRM IT. Providing comprehensive system analysis supporting of the Enterprise Solutions and Integration Directorate and CHRM IT portfolio. Ensuring CHRM IT system architecture is in accordance with the Department's Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA). If selected at the GS-13 level, the above responsibilities will be performed in a developmental capacity.

Qualifications: You may qualify at the GS-14, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service: Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) involving DoD-wide projects and studies for program areas such as system modernization and consolidation of functions. Developing current and future HR policies, processes, methods and metrics. Designing strategies and innovation methodologies (Requirements Gathering, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)) that impact DoD civilian human resources information systems. You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service: Experience with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). Assisting with development of current and future HR policies, processes, methods and metrics. Assisting with design of strategies and innovation methodologies (Requirements Gathering, Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)) that impact DoD civilian human resources information systems.
