Human Resources Partner

The Human Resources Partner position is responsible for cultivating continuous organizational evolution by aligning business objectives with employees and management. The Human Resources Partner coordinates and/or provides guidance on human resource functions across assigned client groups, up to and including benefits, workforce planning, performance management, recruitment/retention, employee relations, and compliance in coordination with the subject-matter experts and department heads. Maintain positive employee relations that improves staff morale, reduces workplace conflict and ultimately, increases productivity.

Job Description:

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic HR Partner expertise to assigned client groups to maximize organizational performance.
  • Translate operational strategy and organizational needs into solutions including organizational design and development, talent management, and change management.
  • Take a systematic, insight and data-driven approach to influence strategies and help solve emerging departmental challenges.
  • Act as a proactive and credible partner and advisor to leaders; bring thought leadership and experience to grow our leaders.
  • Translate the HR needs of the college and deploy programs and processes in ways that bring value.
  • Participate in ongoing continuing education in legal compliance and HR best practices through ongoing professional development and continuing education to ensure compliant and forward-thinking HR support. 
  • Design and conduct compliance audits, including comprehensive reviews of work authorization and I-9 records, to mitigate risk and ensure full regulatory compliance. 
  • Support the preparation and completion of required documentation and applications for employees requiring visa sponsorship, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable regulations. 
  • Provide assistance to department heads in facilitating organization design, working within stated budgetary parameters set by finance.
  • Partner with the Labor and Employment Relations (LER) Team in providing initial guidance and resources for performance management, probationary reviews and feedback and  performance improvement plans.  Participate with employee investigations, employee misconduct and policy infraction; support with translation and documentation of these cases, as needed. Support in developing and modifying policies and processes to enhance, increase clarity and ensure legal compliance, as needed.
  • Provide day-to-day employee relations support and guidance regarding human resource practices, interpretation of College/human resources policies and problem resolution to client groups in coordination with LER. 
  • Partner with the Benefits Team in providing initial absence, leave management and accommodation guidelines and processes to clients and make referrals to the Benefits Department. 
  • Partner with People Experience and help bridge communication with Department/Division Heads on matters related to job descriptions, table of organizations, and screening candidates.
  • Support talent related efforts in updating job descriptions and recruitment of seasonal, hourly, and salaried positions for both unionized and administrative positions. 
  • Assist with employee engagement projects such as employee recognition/years of service programs, events, and wellness campaigns.
  • Collaborate with HRIS and Compensation to ensure accurate information and smooth transactions in Workday.
  • Provide overall assistance and collaboration on HR projects and initiatives in engagement, training or special events.
  • Perform any/all duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years of relevant experience in Human Resources  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree
  • Experience working in higher education
  • Additional HR certifications, i.e., SHRM-CP, PHR, SPHR
  • Workday Experience strongly preferred, specifically with HCM

| Salary Range: $90,000 - $95,000

Hours: 35 Hours a Week - Hybrid - 3 days in office, 2 days remote, subject to change due to operational needs.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
