Overview
The Human Resources Business Partner Manager leads the HR function for the assigned facility, ensuring strategies and programs drive workforce engagement, retention, and compliance. This role partners with leaders at all levels to resolve employee concerns, improve performance, and strengthen organizational culture. Key responsibilities include delivering targeted training, supporting advanced recruiting and leadership hiring, and collaborating with Centers of Excellence on initiatives such as pay equity, benefits communication, and performance management to optimize talent outcomes. The Manager also works with HR Support Services to resolve complex issues and enhance employee experience. This position provides direct oversight of the facility HR team, with full management responsibilities—including hiring, coaching, performance evaluation, and professional development—to build a high-performing HR team that supports business objectives
What you will do
- Partners with facility leaders on HR matters, to include employee relations, business unit onboarding, engagement, etc. Collaborates regularly with frontline and senior leaders to maximize the performance of their teams.
- Provides advice and guidance to frontline and senior leaders on employee relations matters, including absence management, performance management, disciplinary procedures, and outcomes. Escalates complex/high risk employee relations matters as needed
- Provides advice to leaders on HR laws, regulations, and practices (e.g., FMLA, ADA, etc). Functions as an HR policy expert and assists leaders with HR policy interpretation and enforcement.
- Supports employee lifecycle activities, such as onboarding and offboarding.
- Oversees human resources team. Conducts audits of HR activities to ensure compliance and make recommendations for improvement.
- Supports HR related component of regulatory surveys.
- Supports workforce planning and organizational change initiatives.
- Supports employee engagement initiatives in assigned facilities and/or departments.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelors Degree, Human Resources or Related Field (Required)
Experience
- 3-4 years HR experience to include employee relations, investigations, and resolving complex employee concerns (Required)
- Leadership experience in Human Resources (Preferred)
- Healthcare Human Resources experience (Preferred)
- Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations (Required)
- Experience with HCM Workday (Preferred)
Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in computer technology including all MS Office products. Intermediate level or above MS Excel skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills across broad and diverse audiences.
- Exhibit a comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations and compliance (e.g., HIPAA).
- Skilled in the consistent application of policies and procedures.
- Well-developed HR knowledge base with a firm understanding of laws, regulations, and practices impacting HR (i.e. FMLA, FLSA, ADA, Wage and Hour, etc).
- Excellent stakeholder and relationship management.
- Ability to exercise discretion with sensitive and confidential information.
- Tactical mindset.
- Skilled in interpreting and implementing business solutions.
- Ability to advise and coach leaders.
- Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities and follow through to completion.
Licenses and Certifications
- Professional in Human Resource (PHR) - Human Resources Certification Institute Upon Hire(Preferred) or
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) - Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Upon Hire(Preferred)
