Human Resources Generalist

The HR Generalist will be responsible for the local delivery and execution of core HR services to employees and managers in accordance with Johnson Controls principles, corporate policies and procedures, and plant operations. You will perform a variety of employment related functions for the ultimate purpose of enhancing employee engagement, safety and health, productivity and ensuring employee compliance with Company policies in a manufacturing facility.

How you will do it

  • Develop effective working relationships with local management and employees in order to influence and coach them on effective employment practices.
  • Assist local management on various employment matters including Performance Management issues, employee inquiries or complaints, grievances, as well as the implementation of company-wide HR activities.
  • Conduct investigations and recommends actions to effectively resolve policy violations. Seeks counsel from HR Leader or Legal as necessary to ensure proper risk management.
  • Stay current on employment laws and Company policies.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with employees and the management team.
  • Conduct hourly recruitment for open positions following established process.
  • Conduct new hire onboarding and orientation using corporate standardized material, as well as local onboarding material.
  • Provide training and support for various HR systems including HR Atlas (JCI’s online employee portal and shared service system), Workday, Share point, Performance Management, and other others.
  • Assist with Payroll and Benefits Administration.
  • Serves as the Empowered People champion for the plant.
  • Provides input for process/policy improvement.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.

What we look for

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.
  • 3+ years of Human Resources experience with at least 1+ years in a manufacturing or related environment.

Preferred

  • CPHR certified or in process of pursuing CPHR.

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $85,000-$95,000 CAN (Salary to be determined by the education, experience,

knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package.
