Workplace Arrangements:

This role will follow a hybrid remote/onsite schedule. Applicants for this role can expect to work on-site from our Ottawa Head Office, on Walkley Road 1-2 days a week for an 8-5 schedule.

This role is a full-time, fixed term (contract) opportunity from date of hire until October 30, 2026.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Execute on aspects of the people plan (labour, process and tools) as assigned by the HR Business Partner.

  • Communicate and train on HR systems, programs and processes that are in place to support  functional areas HR needs and Gaps.

  • Execute compliance around HR policies/labour legislation for your business unit and identify risks and actions to escalate to the HR Business Partner as needed.

  • Communicate with COEs and HR Ops to resolve any concerns for your business unit and ensure that you escalate feedback from your business unit to the HR Business Partner. 

  • Provide coaching, counselling and responses on employee relations and labour relations programs, policies and procedures that impact your business unit.  

  • Build business relationships as a trusted and proactive HR advisor through our HR Best Practices to drive employee engagement.

What You'll Bring:

  • Post Secondary education in Human Resources or related discipline; or equivalent experience

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a HR role

  • Skilled in developing positive working relationships with business leaders

  • Excellent attention to detail with written work

  • Proven ability to effectively communicate in a positive way  

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate provincial employment law, policies and regulations

  • Strong computer skills in using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint are required

  • Acts with the highest professional standards of personal and professional integrity

Assets You May Have

  • Bilingualism English and French

  • Experience working in an HRIS

  • Relevant experience in conducting ER investigations, including Harassment investigations and supporting MOL & Human Rights claims
