Boeing Canada Operations Ltd. is seeking a Human Resource Generalist reporting to the Human Resource manager, working out of the Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada site. This position is for a 12–18 month term.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic, inclusive team aimed at shaping the future of HR at Boeing. The Human Resources (HRG) Generalist will be working in a team that supports 1,200+ employees within Boeing Canada Winnipeg. The position will work closely with other key groups in the Human Resources organization and specialized HR Centers of Excellence (COE’s) and the HR Services groups to deliver high quality, seamlessly integrated operational HR support for the business, the employees and managers.

The HRG delivers a wide range of HR services to the employees and management team. This includes: employee relations, workplace investigations, Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) actions in support of recalls, shift preferences, factory skills rebalancing, skills reclassifications, skills development planning, strategic skills planning, employee return to work, labour relations/grievance support, performance management, and HR trainings.

The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Winnipeg site.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for partnering and facilitating all HR services

  • Function as a true business partner to provide clients with advice on key business objectives and execute on those strategies to solve business challenges.

  • Consult to clients in key areas include employee relations, employee engagement, coaching, workforce planning, HR training, and performance management.

  • Consult with client groups on application/interpretation of statutory regulations, HR policies, performance issues, transfer, terminations and promotions and employee problem resolution. Influence operations leaders through certain scenarios.

  • Work with the business unit to deliver and facilitate developmental opportunities for client groups, which may include performance management, succession/workforce planning, compensation/benefits, organization/team development, and change management.

  • Maintain knowledge of labour/union issues and best practices in order to promote positive labor relations. This includes working in union environment, understanding & managing through a CBA.

  • Monitor employee climate to identify issues/trends and develop recommendations for problem solving with business units as appropriate. Develop solutions to implement with the business.

  • Ensure compliance with established internal HR policies and procedures and regulatory requirements and conduct periodic audits, as needed/required.

  • Manage specific projects as determined by the HR Senior Leadership Team and participate in functional and cross-functional initiatives.

  • Maintain knowledge of progressive HR practices, continued business acumen and key trends.

  • Provide coaching, counseling and serves as an advisor to management on various employee relations issues of a more complex nature.

  • Provide feedback to management on the development of current and future skill requirements and implementation of staffing plans.

  • Support the administration of Company programs including attendance management.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience in Human Resources

  • Experience in deploying and administering HR programs, policies, practices and processes

  • Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills, high-impact communication style

  • Experience with Microsoft office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

  • Must be legally able to work in Canada

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience in Human Resources

  • Human Resources Certification, Diploma or Degree

  • Experience with collective agreements within a union environment

  • Knowledge of employment law, compensation and organizational development

  • Knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) systems, basic HR measurement, and process improvement techniques

This requisition is for a, locally hired position in Canada. Benefits and pay are determined by Canada and are not on Boeing US-based payroll. This is not an expatriate assignment.
