HSSE Advisor

Function:  

Responsible for providing support for the safer operation of all plants and equipment, responding to fire and emergencies according to Puma’s health and safety policies. Providing support in ensuring compliance with health and safety policies by all personnel and for the implementation of HSEC tasks in accordance with departmental operational plans and schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support in the operational management of HSSE for the business
  • Provide necessary support to designated sites in the implementation of HSSEMS to achieve the systems intended outcomes.
  • Provide support to the HSSE Manager and Training specialist in the development, planning and delivery of HSSE related training topics particularly related to HSSEMS.
  • Provide specialist support regarding HSSE to other employees in all departments.
  • Conduct HSSE inspection/audits, analyze accident/incident reports, identify issues/challenges, and establish goals and action plans.
  • Conduct HSSE audits as per the Audit schedule focusing on HSSEMS and other audits as requested by the HSSE Manager.
  • Conduct QC Checks on Intelex entries.
  • Assist In the development and implementation of HSE Plans, programs and campaigns
  • Conduct and assist/ Coach in incident investigations for assigned facilities and other areas in the business as assigned, ensuring accurate incident investigations and corrective actions are uploaded in Intelex.  
  • Provide HSSEMS support to facilities in designated regions focusing on implementation of the system tools.
  • Comply with company requirements and systems relating to HSSEMS, HSSE & Quality and other company policies.
  • Undertakes other HSSE tasks as required by HSSE Manager
  • Comply to HSEQ Employee Responsibilities.

HSE Responsibilities – General Employee

As part of each employee’s legal and moral responsibility to Puma Energy PNG, you are to support management by:

  • Cooperating with the Company to enable compliance with any duty imposed upon them by law.
  • Using properly and effectively equipment designed to safeguard his / her well being
  • Being aware of factors or situations that may impact upon the quality of the product and service and the environment.
  • Following implicitly the Company’s Health, Safety & Environment Policy / Procedures / Work Instructions as communicated in writing or as instructions received orally
  • Comply with the Company’s procedures and the relevant legislation regarding the Injury Management process.
  • To formally report to their Manager any concern or incident / injury / non-conformance in any aspect of their work and complete the Puma Energy PNG Incident / Non Conformance Report form.
  • To formally report to their Manager or supervisor any hazard, practice or condition that will affect safety, production, or the community.
  • All forms are completed as outlined in the procedures
  • Any discrepancies of goods / services received are to be addressed through the Non Conformance procedures
  • All products are to be verified at appropriate stages as outlined in procedures and a record maintained.

Requirements:

Experiences:  

  • Good experience in HSE and quality compliance in an industrial setting preferable in oil and gas or petrochemical
  • Undergraduate University degree in health and safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Safety or Risk management.
  • Safety standards knowledge.

Skills:  

  • Able to work under pressure
  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written
  • Knowledge in computer applications

Competencies:  

  • Knowledge of all processes and HS&E procedures and manuals
  • Knowledge of systems safety and hazard/risk analysis processes
  • Coaching & developing
