As HSEQ Manager, you will lead and develop the HSEQ department and support all functions in Norway, from our Binder Factory, Head Office and R&D Center, to our Vindal factory and all employees in Norway.

You will hold professional responsibility for HSEQ activities, policies, reporting, and training—securing compliance with Jotun HSEQ element requirements and Norwegian regulations in a complex, multi stakeholder environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and develop our HSEQ team—build competence, engagement, and consistent ways of working.
  • Implement, maintain, and improve HSEQ policies/procedures and certification systems (ISO 9001/14001/45001); oversee internal/external audits.
  • Set HSEQ and quality objectives/KPIs; analyze and report performance; follow up actions with stakeholders.
  • Initiate and drive improvement projects (e.g., environmental clean‑up, waste reduction, fire risk reduction, energy management, and quality).
  • Ensure robust emergency response and crisis management; act as key contact for authorities, fire brigade, and safety representatives.

Qualifications & personal qualities

  • Methodical, proactive, accountable—plans ahead, prioritises, and delivers high‑quality results.
  • Education in chemistry, process, or HSEQ; experience from a production environment.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO certification systems; familiarity with Norwegian law/regulations (auditing is a plus).
  • Proven people leadership—able to coach, influence, and align managers across levels.
  • Stakeholder‑savvy; collaborates effectively with authorities and emergency services; clear communicator in English (Norwegian is a bonus, but not a strong requirement).
