The HSE Operations Manager - Network Services will support the Utilities metering and new energy projects to provide advice and assistance regarding HSE matters and facilitates consultation, coordination and communication between stakeholders to achieve HSE outcomes and promote a strong focus on the Service Stream Group’s Safety Value and Leadership Model - WALK TALK LEAD CARE.

Due to exciting new growth, an opportunity have arisen for a HSE Operations Manager - Network Services to join Service Stream’s in one of our East Coast locations.
The HSE Operations Manager - Network Services will support the Utilities metering and new energy projects to provide advice and assistance regarding HSEQ matters and facilitates consultation, coordination and communication between stakeholders to achieve HSE outcomes and promote a strong focus on the Service Stream Group’s Safety Value and Leadership Model - WALK TALK LEAD CARE.
As the successful candidate, you will demonstrate the following;
- Work collaboratively with the metering and new energy projects across our Utilities stream to maintain effective and sustainable processes that are aligned to company standards and HSE programs
- Provide regular reporting to the Utilities project Management Teams, identifying issues and trends as well as actions designed to bring about sustained improvements
- Manage the Utilities projects' contribution to maintaining the company's HSE certifications (ISO, AS/NZS & Office of the Federal Safety Commissioner)
- Work with Utilities project managers, supervisors and the regional HSE Business Partners to investigate incidents to ensure effective and sustainable corrective action is taken and the lessons learned are communicated to the appropriate audience
- Work with Utility project managers and supervisors and the regional HSE Business Partners to sustain a program of regular site and project visits and audits.
- Support Utility project management in meeting their injury management and return to work responsibilities
- Maintain an understanding of the commercial needs of the Utility projects and work with key stakeholders to integrate effective and sustainable HSE controls into the delivery of work for each project/contract
- Lead and coach management and workers developing their skills and continually improving the company's risk management capability, participate in the identification, assessment and controls of HSE risk, ensure identified HSE risks are elevated to the appropriate level of management for action.
What do you bring?
In addition to the above, we require an individual with;
- Excellent people management skills, with the capacity to listen to others, identify their needs and provide appropriate direction, guidance and support.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with a demonstrated ability to discuss a wide range of issues to engage people across all levels of the organisation, including senior management.
- Working knowledge of Legislation, Standards and Codes and ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and AS 4801 standards
- Strong skills in auditing and investigation.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a HSE leadership role across a national business within engineering, manufacturing, construction, and/or utilities industries is desirable.
