Senior Workday Integrations Specialist

We are looking for a Senior Workday Integration Specialist to join our Enterprise IT team. Together with the rest of the developers in Enterprise IT you will co-operate with our People team and HRIS Specialists to create a world-class Workday environment for our company.

Your responsibilities will also include to act as technical owner for the Workday system in Enterprise IT. This includes end-to-end ownership, governance and strategic evolution of the Workday platform at Smartly. This role ensures that Workday operates as a stable, scalable, and well-governed product, aligned with business needs, technical best practices, and long-term HR technology strategy.

Key Responsibilities in the role: 

• Serves as the subject matter expert for Workday integrations to provide guidance and support to HR and IT teams
• Act as technical owner for the Workday system in Enterprise IT
• Continuously evaluates and enhances system functionality to identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
• Collaborates with IT teams to optimize integrations with internal and external systems to ensure data integrity and security
• Translates HR requirements into formal design documents with specific solutions and clear deadlines to ensure structured implementation
• Maintains knowledge of system architecture and participates in technical discussions to support effective problem-solving and design decisions
• Recommends and manages updates to Workday tenant setup to reflect evolving business needs
• Build and maintain integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, and Web Services (SOAP/REST).

Security & Compliance:

• Recommends and develops user-based, domain, and business process security groups to ensure data confidentiality and compliance
• Configures and manages Workday security roles, permissions, and domain security policies to ensure access control
• Conducts security audits, access reviews, and compliance checks to uphold data integrity and regulatory standards (HIPAA, GDPR, etc.)

What we are looking for: 

• 8 years’ experience in Workday implementation and support across HCM domains.
• B.S. in Computer Science / Software Engineering / Management Information Systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues within Workday, including complex system and integration problems
• Understanding of HR processes, business requirements, and best practices, with the ability to translate them into technical Workday solutions
• Familiarity with integration tools such as Workday Studio, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), and Workday Web Services (WWS)
• Experience with integration technologies including REST and SOAP APIs, XML, XSLT, and JSON
• Familiarity with API authentication methods (OAuth 2, Basic Auth, SAML)
• Experience working with Java, Java Script.
• Understanding of security and data privacy standards such as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and related frameworks
• Experience integrating Workday modules such as Recruiting, Benefits, Absence, Compensation, Time Tracking, Payroll, Talent & Performance
• Strong technical acumen, including the ability to understand, apply, and troubleshoot technical information and systems to enhance efficiency and problem-solving
• Exceptional solutions design skills, with the ability to analyze business challenges and develop effective solutions that leverage technology and optimize resources
• Strong influencing skills, including persuasive communication and the ability to drive consensus and effectively collaborate with stakeholders
• Advanced understanding of the complete software implementation lifecycle - including data requirements gathering, dataset migration, data reconciliation, and move to production
• Active Workday Implementer Certification or Workday PRO Certification
