We are looking for a candidate who will understand ‘as-is’ end-to-end business/process cycles, possess the ability to act effectively at various levels of detail, work constructively with cross-functional teams and senior management, facilitate problem-solving and decision-making and be actively involved in multiple project activities, such as owning project plans and requirements elicitation.
Position Details
Purpose of Role
You will be part of a Regional and Global HRIS team that supports International and Group HR teams by shaping customer requirements, providing recommendations, and developing appropriate technical and business solutions to meet overall HR and HRIS Goals and Objectives. Your role will focus on understanding the needs of the customers, exploring Workday serviceable solutions, offering suggestions, and crafting suitable business and operational strategies for roll out to fulfill the overall objectives of HR and HRIS.
Your duties will include leading operations-based projects/solutions, offering guidance, and mentoring less-experienced HRIS team members. You will investigate, analyze, and present various Workday module-based operation solutions and strategic recommendations. You will be accountable for delivering high-quality results while adhering to data security, privacy requirements, and IT General Controls. Collaboration, proactivity, curiosity, and analytical abilities are key traits needed to work effectively with cross-functional teams and HR and IT peer groups.
Responsibilities & Duties
1. Provide efficient Workday solutions from an operational perspective, leveraging your experience in implementation, design, and operation.
2. Evaluate the system and business process architectures currently in place and collaborate with leadership, functional, and technical resources to recommend operational improvements, solutions, or strategies.
3. Develop, enhance, and maintain established service design procedures and processes by applying appropriate frameworks and methodologies.
4. Provide expert guidance and mentorship to HRIS staff to ensure operational teams deliver efficient and effective solutions.
5. Prepare and present operational presentations and briefings.
6. Lead in the consistent use of internal tools for ticketing and config management.
7. Continuously partner with regional and global HRIS leadership to focus on short- and long-term impacts.
8. Ensure compliance with IT General Controls and Employee data privacy and security.
9. Lead or be involved in special projects as identified by the Global HRIS leadership team in support of the CHROs.
10. Stay updated on HR technology trends and recommend new systems and technologies to the Regional and Global Directors.
Work Environment
Currently, the Japan-based team is about 40 across a global team of about 80. Japan has a large operations team that supports the company and group-level HR, PMO, and Japan-specific solution designs.
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Experience in building or improving operations using HR management or other ERP (core business system) package software
- Japanese: Native level, English: Conversational level
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with HR systems (Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Oracle HCM Cloud, COMPANY, etc.)
- Experience working at a global company
- Ability to communicate effectively with HR personnel at headquarters/group companies and technical teams within HRIS to drive projects forward
