POSITION MISSION

The HR Technology Manager serves as the functional and technical owner of Bagel Brands’ Human Capital Management (HCM) systems, including Workday and related HR technology platforms. This role ensures HR systems are secure, scalable, integrated, and aligned with enterprise architecture standards while enabling People and business teams to operate efficiently and compliantly.

As part of the Enterprise Applications team within IT, this role partners closely with People, Finance, Operations, and external vendors to ensure HR technology solutions support business priorities and deliver accurate, reliable data for decision-making.

ENTERPRISE SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

This role owns system configuration, optimization, integration, governance, and ongoing support for HR technology platforms, including Workday HCM and related modules supporting Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and workforce reporting.

The HR Technology Manager ensures adherence to enterprise application standards, security protocols, data governance requirements, and system architecture principles across all HR-related systems.

Annual Base Salary range: $135,000 up to $150,000/yr

Bonus: 15%

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

HR Systems Strategy & Governance

  • Contribute to the HR Technology roadmap in alignment with enterprise application strategy and IT standards.
  • Ensure HR systems align with architecture, integration, security, and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with IT leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize system enhancements and technology investments.
  • Identify risks, system dependencies, and opportunities for process automation and platform optimization.

Workday & System Ownership

  • Serve as the primary system owner and subject matter expert for Workday HCM and related HR platforms.
  • Configure and maintain business processes, workflows, security roles, integrations, and system controls.
  • Lead system upgrades, testing cycles, feature releases, and change management activities.
  • Ensure data integrity, reporting accuracy, and reliable system performance.
  • Manage system integrations with Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and other enterprise systems.

Data, Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop and maintain HR reporting frameworks and dashboards that support workforce planning and leadership insights.
  • Partner with People and Finance teams to ensure data structures support meaningful analytics.
  • Ensure data governance, privacy, and access controls meet internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Translate business reporting needs into scalable system solutions.

Operational Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead day-to-day HR system support operations, ensuring timely issue resolution and user support.
  • Establish and maintain documentation, system standards, and best practices.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively recommend enhancements.
  • Support audit, compliance, and regulatory reporting requirements.

Vendor & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage relationships with Workday and other HR technology vendors.
  • Partner with People leadership to understand evolving business needs and translate them into system solutions.
  • Serve as a liaison between IT and People teams to ensure alignment and clarity on system capabilities and limitations.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Technology, Business, Human Resources, related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing Human Capital Management (HCM) systems and reporting solutions.
  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise system integrations, data governance, and security standards.
  • Experience configuring and managing Workday HCM or comparable enterprise HR systems.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in related field.
  • Workday certification(s) preferred.
  • Experience in multi-unit retail, restaurant, or hospitality environments.
