Job Summary: You will serve as a HR SPECIALIST (RECRUITMENT/CLASSIFICATION) in the ??????Human Resources Office of MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP PENDLETON.

Major Duties:

  • You will apply a full-range of information gathering and decision making and analyze complex recruitment and classification issues and problems.
  • You will assist in developing short and long-range staffing plans to forecast mission requirements.
  • You will assess employee turnover patterns and review technological changes and local labor market conditions to provide advise to managers on future staffing strategies.
  • You will advise managers on creating cost effective and efficient organizations, proper job designs, supervisory ratio, organization and position structures.
  • You will assist managers with job analysis, writing crediting plans, etc., used to rate/rank candidates in competitive placement actions.
  • You will review position descriptions for accuracy, recommending proper title, series and grade in accordance with appropriate classification standards and guidelines.
  • You will relay information to employees on changes in policy, directives, and procedures.

Qualifications: GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector interpreting, applying and advising customers on laws, regulations and policies pertaining to federal civilian staffing and recruitment for internal/merit promotion and external hiring, determining applicant eligibility and qualifications, and providing guidance, review, and final classification of federal civilian position classification. GS-12 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing a full range of comprehensive management advisory/consultant services and assistance to include applying laws, regulations and policies pertaining to federal civilian staffing and recruitment for internal/merit and external hiring in accordance with merit system principles, reviewing position descriptions for accuracy, determining applicant eligibility and qualifications and managing complex recruitment and staffing actions.
