MUFG is seeking a dedicated HR Customer Service Centre Vice President to join their London team, reporting directly to the Global Head of AskHR. This pivotal role offers you the opportunity to shape and elevate the HR shared services function within one of the world’s most respected financial institutions. As a key member of the EMEA HR leadership team, you will be instrumental in driving operational excellence, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and ensuring robust risk management across all HR service centre activities. What you'll do:

  • Provide authoritative leadership and direction to the HR Service Centre team, ensuring delivery of proficient support to client groups across the organisation.
  • Act as the risk champion for AskHR tier 1 by partnering with first and second line of Defence teams to identify HR risks, strengthen controls, and implement effective mitigating actions.
  • Oversee timely and accurate reporting of risk events and issues to senior management as well as first and second line of Defence stakeholders.
  • Support the Global Head of AskHR in monitoring controls execution, managing audit findings, and ensuring delivery excellence within AskHR tier 1 operations.
  • Partner with Procurement to ensure all HR vendors comply with internal policies and external regulations, overseeing outsourcing and third-party risk management processes.
  • Lead enhancements resulting from internal or external audits by collaborating closely with Risk, Internal Audit, and Global HR Central Services teams.
  • Champion data privacy initiatives by supporting Data Privacy Impact Assessments (DPIA) in partnership with the Data Protection Officer.
  • Drive change management for enterprise-wide HR projects by supporting process improvements from a risk controls perspective using systems such as Workday.
  • Coach, develop, and inspire a team of analysts while promoting the 'One MUFG' vision throughout EMEA HR operations.
  • Prepare detailed KPI reports and bulletins for senior leadership stakeholders while ensuring all services are delivered in accordance with agreed policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

What you bring:

  • A degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field—or equivalent relevant work experience—demonstrating your foundational understanding of business principles.
  • Experience managing teams within a shared service environment—ideally gained within Financial Services or another regulated sector—showcasing your ability to lead high-performing groups.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HR practices including employment legislation and transactional services management using CRM/ticketing systems such as Service Now.
  • Proven expertise in process mapping along with hands-on experience managing transactional HR operational activity within defined frameworks.
  • Advanced proficiency with HR software platforms including Workday as well as extensive use of case management systems for handling complex queries efficiently.
  • In-depth understanding of GDPR requirements alongside FCA/banking regulations impacting employment practices within large organisations.
  • Exceptional communication skills enabling you to influence stakeholders at all levels through clear presentations, negotiation techniques, and written correspondence.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflicting priorities effectively while maintaining attention to detail under pressure.
  • Experience preparing analytical reports for senior leaders using advanced literacy/numeracy skills for statistical analysis and performance measurement.
  • A collaborative mindset that thrives on building interdependent relationships across business functions while inspiring optimism, resilience, flexibility, and openness among colleagues.
