Position Summary:

The HR Safety Manager reporting to the general manager. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing health and safety programs within an organization. This role ensures compliance with safety regulations, conducts risk assessments, and provides training to employees on safety procedures. The HR Safety Manager also investigates incidents, enforces safety policies, and advises management on safety issues.  This person will oversee all aspects of human resources practices and processes including managing recruitment, developing policies, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute plans to ensure workplace safety according to legal guidelines.

  • Establish and enforce policies to promote a culture of health and safety.

  • Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

  • Conduct training sessions for employees on safety policies, regulations, and procedures.

  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and recommend improvements.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and maintain accurate records.

  • Provide guidance to the administrative team on safety issues and compliance in specific projects and operations.

  • Manage the staffing process, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding new employees.

  • Ensure job descriptions are up to date and compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Develop training materials and performance management programs to help employees understand their job responsibilities.

  • Investigate employee issues and conflicts, bringing them to resolution.

  • Ensure the organization’s compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

  • Partner with management to ensure strategic HR goals are aligned with business initiatives.

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, human resources, or a related field.

  • 5 years of experience in safety management, human resources management or a related role

  • Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, ability to conduct training, and knowledge of safety regulations and compliance.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to manage multiple tasks, knowledge of HR systems and databases, and proficiency in HR software.
