Human Resources Generalist - Days

Monday - Friday 8:00am - 6:00pm

The annual salary for this position is $76,700 to $109,100 (DOE)

Sign On Bonus - $2,000

This highly visible position is located at our Vancouver and/or Ridgefield, WA facility.

What you’ll do:

This position will provide comprehensive support in all HR and administrative functions within the department and for management staff. The Human Resources Generalist will work with a team of onsite Human Resources professionals to support, assist with leading, and guiding the overall initiatives throughout the manufacturing and distribution facilities

Essential Functions:

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), company policies, safety policies and practices, quality standards, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Responsible at all times for ensuring that tasks are performed according to food safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines, and promote a safe culture and awareness within their area of responsibility.
  • Act as an employee advocate and ensure compliance to the company’s human resources policies and appropriate government law and regulations including but not limited to EEO, AAP, OFCCP, FMLA, and Unemployment.
  • Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing, revised, and anticipated new legislation, and advise HR Business Partner on needed actions.
  • Create, maintain, and monitor records pertaining to employee absences, leaves, and accommodations, including but not limited to FMLA, PLOA, ADA, and WA PFML, adhering to document retention guidelines.
  • Facilitate the Staffing Process and work with department Manager / Supervisor to maintain needed staffing levels and ensure area staffing information is accurate and up to date. Ensure HRIS / Payroll systems are updated based on employee moves.
  • Perform recruitment activities including writing and posting recruitment advertisements, conducting interviews, and recommending candidates for open positions.
  • Assist the post offer/new hire process and assist with the HR portion of new hire orientation.
  • Act as an employee advocate, engage in employee relations activities and offer recommendations
  • Foster and maintain good employee relations though the appropriate methods of communication and positive employee relations practices.
  • Develop and implement training on HR topics on a regular basis.
  • Assist with the processing of non-exempt payroll hours on a bi-monthly basis in current platform.
  • Communicate with managers on related issues to ensure accurate payroll / HR Data.
  • Direct information of a critical/sensitive nature to the HR Manager in a timely and appropriate manner so as to not jeopardize confidential information or timeliness of response.
  • Conduct investigations and recommend and review supervisory recommendations for corrective actions, performance improvement and terminations when necessary.
  • Process employee separations and conduct exit interviews.
  • Oversee unemployment claim responses and attend claim hearings as necessary.
  • Maintain company job description documentation and organizational charts.
  • Assist other departments with Human Resources related issues, while maintaining a good working relationship.
  • Complete special projects by clarifying project objectives; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; and fulfilling transactions.
  • Liaison for vendors and state agencies
  • Administer and communicate all on-boarding reviews of new hires with necessary parties.
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years previous human resources generalist experience required.
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality always and in all situations
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office Suite, Windows-based applications)
  • HRIS software experience required; Workday preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and skills – ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent communications skills – ability to communicate clearly and concisely in multiple media – verbal, written, etc
  • Excellent organizational/time management skills
  • Strong degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to provide and sustain a strong level of customer service to the organization
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced work environment

PREFERED EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 3-5 years in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SPC certification preferred

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of employment law and regulatory requirements at the federal, state, and local levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills – ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational/time management skills, with astute attention to detail, able to prioritize work assignments in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong computer skills (HRIS and MS Office Suite).
  • Ability to analyze data and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality at all times and in every situation.

REQUIRED TRAINING:

  • Candidates are required to complete all necessary trainings within the defined introductory period.
