HR Generalist

Position Summary

AmeriVet Veterinary Partners is seeking a proactive, resourceful, and detail-oriented HR Generalist to support day-to-day human resources operations across our growing network of veterinary practices. This role serves as a key partner to field leadership and clinic teams, delivering comprehensive HR support across employee relations, compliance, onboarding, and core HR programs.

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in HR best practices, thrives in a fast-paced, multi-site environment, and is passionate about creating a positive and compliant workplace experience that supports both team members and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted HR partner and primary point of contact for employees and managers across assigned regions, providing timely guidance and support
  • Manage employee relations matters, including conducting investigations, resolving workplace concerns, and recommending appropriate, compliant solutions
  • Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, transfers, and status changes, ensuring a seamless and positive employee experience
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, as well as company policies and procedures
  • Partner with leadership on performance management processes, coaching conversations, and employee engagement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and ensure data integrity within the HRIS system
  • Support benefits administration, including employee education and responding to inquiries in a timely manner
  • Assist in the development, communication, and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Talent Acquisition, Payroll, and other HR teams to support evolving business needs
  • Contribute to HR projects and initiatives aimed at improving processes, enhancing employee experience, and driving organizational effectiveness

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 3–5+ years of progressive HR Generalist or related experience
  • Strong working knowledge of employment law, compliance requirements, and HR best practices
  • Experience supporting multi-site or field-based organizations preferred
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications

  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification
  • Experience in healthcare, veterinary, or other multi-location environments
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms such as Workday, ADP, or similar systems

This role will have a hybrid work schedule with up to 2-3 days in the office.
