Elevate your HR career by joining a dynamic, international HR team where you will serve as a strategic partner for our operations across Spain and Greece. Job Description

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

The HRBP will work proactively with leaders to provide value-added, legally compliant, and business-focused HR solutions and interventions:

Employee Relations & Legal Compliance

  • Serve as the expert authority on all employee relations and local employment law/compliance matters across Spain and Greece.

  • Provide sound, legally-grounded HR advice, guidance, and support to leaders and individual performers, ensuring consistency and risk mitigation.

  • Possess a proven track record of effectively managing employee relations within a work council environment ensuring compliance with relevant collective bargaining agreements.

  • Educate leaders and employees on all aspects of HR policy, process, procedure, and legal updates to ensure continuous compliance.

  • Embed and sustain a high-performance culture, ensuring fair and legally compliant performance management practices.

  • Support in all aspects of recruitment, performance management, and remuneration activity.

Strategic HR Business Partnership

  • Build and maintain strong, credible working relationships with business partners, acting as a Strategic HR Business Partner to align HR strategies with critical business objectives.

  • Leverage HR metrics, analytics, and insights to inform strategic decision-making and demonstrate HR’s impact on the business.

  • Lead organisational design efforts, ensuring structures, roles, and responsibilities are optimised for business efficiency and future growth.

  • Design and implement change management strategies to facilitate compliant organisational transformation and enhance operational effectiveness.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner with the wider International HR team to ensure global and local policies, processes, and tools are aligned with business goals and best practices.

  • Have daily contact with leaders at all levels as well as employees.

  • Contact with suppliers and third-party providers, for example, external legal counsel.

Basic Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  • Operate as a trusted, credible HRBP with a high degree of professionalism and strategic perspective.

  • Possess exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build credibility and influence leaders at all levels, particularly in navigating complex ER issues.

  • Be able to challenge and influence in a positive, constructive manner, ensuring legal and policy compliance.

  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to handle ambiguity and make sound, legally-defensible decisions in a fast-paced environment.

  • Have strong experience managing employee relations issues, with a balanced and legally-compliant approach to advocacy for employees and the organisation.

  • Be commercially and financially aware.

  • Exhibit excellent customer service.

  • Be a self-starter with a willingness and drive to ‘go the extra mile’ when required.

  • Be highly organised, able to prioritise, and work effectively under pressure.

Academic and Technical Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent professional HR certification is highly desirable.

Other Technical Expertise, Experience, and Knowledge

  • Proven track record as an Expert HRBP, providing strategic and compliant HR support at all levels.

  • Deep and sound knowledge of current employment law, labour relations, and compliance requirements for the supported countries (Spain, Greece).

  • Proven track record of managing complex and sensitive employee relations issues and investigations.

  • Essential experience of operating in a work council environment, specifically navigating local legislation.

  • Strong business acumen.

Location and Language Requirements

  • Location: Portugal 

  • Language:

    • Essential: Solid English and Spanish language skills (written and verbal).

    • Desirable: Proficiency in Portuguese and/or Italian.

Travel: Travel to Spain, Madrid as required
