Role Purpose
LHV Bank is seeking a commercially focused, hands-on HR Business Partner to support our continued growth and scaling in a regulated financial services environment.
This is a broad generalist role for someone who thrives in a fast-moving, high-growth bank. The successful candidate will partner closely with business leaders, acting as a trusted advisor while also rolling up their sleeves to deliver across reward, recruitment, organisational development, employee relations, and strategic people projects.
This role requires strong experience within challenging, scaling financial services environments (e.g., banking, fintech, payments, regulated lending), where pace, regulatory scrutiny, and commercial pressure are high. The role is London-based, with an expectation of spending 3–4 days per week in the office to maintain strong stakeholder engagement and cultural connectivity.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Business Partnering
- Partner senior leaders and managers to drive business performance through effective people strategy.
- Provide pragmatic, commercially focused HR advice in a regulated environment.
- Support organisational design, workforce planning, and team scaling initiatives.
- Coach managers on performance, capability, and engagement.
Scaling & Growth Support
- Support rapid headcount growth while maintaining culture and governance standards.
- Lead or contribute to organisational change initiatives.
- Strengthen leadership capability during periods of expansion and transformation.
- Balance agility with regulatory and risk requirements.
Reward & Performance
- Support and help shape reward frameworks aligned to financial services best practice.
- Partner with leadership on compensation benchmarking, incentive design, and annual cycles.
- Drive performance management processes that enable accountability and high standards.
- Ensure reward practices align with regulatory expectations where applicable.
Talent & Recruitment
- Work closely with hiring managers to deliver high-quality hiring across specialist banking roles.
- Support recruitment strategy in competitive financial services markets.
- Contribute to employer branding and talent attraction initiatives.
- Ensure robust and compliant hiring processes.
Employee Relations & Risk
- Manage complex employee relations cases with sound judgement and regulatory awareness.
- Ensure policies and practices reflect employment law and financial services regulation.
- Support conduct, governance, and culture initiatives.
- Mitigate people-related risk through proactive advice and intervention.
Organisational Development & Projects
- Lead or support key people projects (e.g., engagement, culture, performance frameworks, systems implementation).
- Use data and insight to inform decision-making.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of People processes and systems.
- Support leadership development initiatives.
Experience & Background:
Essential:
- Proven HR generalist experience within financial services (banking, fintech, payments, or other regulated environments).
- Experience supporting organisations through growth, scaling, or transformation.
- Strong understanding of reward, recruitment, organisational design, and employee relations.
- Experience operating in environments requiring strong governance and regulatory awareness.
- Comfortable working autonomously and delivering operationally as well as strategically.
Desirable:
- Experience within a scaling bank or fintech.
- Exposure to SMCR or regulated remuneration frameworks.
- CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above).
