Position Summary
As an HRBP at Agilent China, you will work closely with site and functional leaders to translate business priorities into people strategies, strengthen leadership capability, and enhance workforce effectiveness. At the same time, you will play a critical role in executing HR operation support for manufacturing sites (ATS and ABH), ensuring consistency, and excellence in HR service delivery. This hybrid role is ideal for an HR Business Partner who is both strategic and operational, with strong experience supporting factory environments.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Business Partnering (50%)
Serve as a trusted advisor to manufacturing and operations leaders, providing guidance on organizational design, workforce planning, employee engagement, and change management aligned with business strategies.
Coach and support leaders to build high-performing teams, strengthen talent pipelines, and improve the employee experience.
Lead and drive core talent processes, including performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, and leadership development.
Leverage data and analytics to identify workforce trends (e.g., turnover, absenteeism, skill gaps) and influence decision-making with actionable insights.
Act as a change leader supporting organizational transformation, digitalization, and new ways of working within factory settings.
Partner closely with HR Centers of Excellence and HR Shared Services to ensure the seamless delivery of compensation, benefits, talent acquisition, L&D, and other HR programs.
Represent site needs to corporate HR program teams and contribute to the design of HR solutions.
HR Operations (50%, Manufacturing-Focused)
Lead end-to-end HR operations for assigned manufacturing sites, including onboarding/offboarding, employee data and contract management, attendance and shift administration, workforce scheduling.
Support labor planning, including headcount management, capability development, operator/technician skill certification, and training program coordination.
Support HR operational rhythms such as monthly workforce reports, labor KPIs (turnover, overtime, stability, productivity), and continuous improvement actions.
Participate in key factory initiatives such as production expansion, capacity transfer, site integration, M&A activities, workforce transformation, and labor cost optimization.
Travel Requirement
This role requires at least 30% travel to manufacturing site in Hangzhou for operational support, leadership engagement, employee relations handling, training, and project execution.
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive HR or related experience in business team, with at least 4 years in talent management, organization development related role. Experience partnering with Senior Leaders in Sales, Customer Service, OFS preferred
• HR Certification a plus
• Experience working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. Multinational company experience a plus
• Proven ability to build strong relationships, influence at all levels of the organization, and effectively partner with HR Centers of Excellence, HR Services and other stakeholders to deliver business results
• Strong business acumen and ability to translate business strategy into people strategy
• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, coaching, and facilitation skills
• Experience with M&A integration and transformation initiatives is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through ambiguity and manage competing, often complex, priorities.
• Impeccable judgement and ability to balance the needs of the business, managers, and employees
• Proven ability to operate with autonomy and discretion and use sound judgement in all situations
• Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
• Fluency in spoken and written Mandarin and English
