The HR Analyst is responsible for managing the HR function for ORED and its reporting centers, including position management for all research faculty, staff, students, and graduate assistants; maintaining information related to personnel changes and requirements; promoting training opportunities offered through ORED and the university; and acting as the primary liaison with University-level Human Resource Management (HRM).
Job Responsibilities:
Acts as HR Originator, Student Employment Partner (SEP), Timekeeper, and Data Specialist in Workday for ORED and its reporting centers. Processes and maintains primary oversight of HR-related actions in Workday, such as creating positions, job requisitions, adding, updating, and removing appointments, compensation changes, new hires, job changes, terminations, additional compensation, allowances, and academic appointments for all faculty, staff, and student employees. Monitors all actions entered in Workday to ensure timely approvals. Reviews and completes I-9s for all hires in the area. Coordinates background checks. Stays up to date on policy changes and communicates changes to all employees. Serves as liaison with HRM, Payroll, and Accounting Services. Serves as departmental Workday HR and position management subject matter expert (SME). Collaborates with HRM Compensation to determine appropriate position titles, job responsibilities, salaries, additional jobs, pay increases for all employee types, monitors and maintains departmental equity, and continued employment of temporary employees. As Workday HR and position management SME, advises hiring managers from recruitment to onboarding, receives and monitors requests, assists in drafting job descriptions, offer letters, and contracts. Follows up with HRM to ensure tasks are completed and regularly updates hiring managers and candidates. Ensures a high level of customer service throughout the process for both hiring managers and candidates. Responsible for onboarding new employees and assisting with their transition, including coordinating with the department and IT to improve the process. (25%)
Ensure execution of front office support for Innovation Park, including but not limited to: meets, greets, and directs all visitors to appropriate units. Answers routine questions relating to the LSU Innovation Park, LSU Organizations located at the Park, or its tenant companies. Oversee front desk student coverage at LSU Innovation Park, who answer telephones, screen calls, prepare daily package shipments, and schedule conference and training rooms. Will perform the above functions if no student is available. Act as Student Employment Partner for Innovation Park. (20%)
Responsible for maintaining and safeguarding personnel files according to university policy. Assists with employee relations cases and exercises discretion with sensitive and confidential HR matters. Assist with exit procedures for departing employees. (10%)
Promotes training opportunities offered through the university; assesses additional HR-related training needs of faculty and staff, and assists Senior HR Analyst to provide specific training as needed in individual and/or group format. (10%)

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
