Role overview

The HR Advisor supports the organization by delivering high quality, operational HR services and HR advice to employees and managers (N-3 and below) across the Veenendaal and Best locations. The role combines HR administration, employee support, advisory work, and support of recruitment activities.
This role ensures the smooth execution of HR processes, contributes to local HR policy implementation, and acts as a trusted advisor for the business and reliable sparring partner to the Head of HR. The HR Advisor plays an essential role in the decentralized HR model and helps safeguard compliance, consistency, and excellent employee experience.

Responsibilities

Operational HR Support & Administration

  • Deliver day‑to‑day operational HR support and administration across the employee lifecycle.

  • Act as first‑line HR contact for employees and managers and ensure timely and appropriate follow‑up.

  • Support accurate HR data management and coordination with Payroll and other relevant stakeholders.

HR Advisory & Employee Relations

  • Provide operational HR advice to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures and people‑related topics.

  • Support day‑to‑day employee relations matters and escalate complex or sensitive cases when required.

  • Contribute to a consistent and fair application of HR practices within the organization.

Recruitment & Onboarding

  • Support and coordinate recruitment and onboarding activities in collaboration with hiring managers.

  • Contribute to a professional and consistent candidate and onboarding experience.

HR Policies, Compliance & Processes

  • Support the implementation and application of local HR policies, processes and guidelines.

  • Contribute to HR compliance by maintaining documentation and supporting internal and external audits.

  • Support accurate HR reporting and data integrity.

Health, Safety & Wellbeing (Operational Support)

  • Support operational Health & Safety and wellbeing activities at local level.

  • Contribute to the execution of local wellbeing and workplace‑related initiatives.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with managers, employees and HR colleagues to support effective HR service delivery.

  • Support continuity of HR operations across locations and provide backup within the HR team when required.

  • Foster a high-performance, collaborative and service‑oriented HR environment in line with Elekta's values

Authorities

  • Authorized to deliver operational HR services and provide day‑to‑day HR advice to managers and employees, in line with Elekta’s Code of Conduct, Values, Policies and ethical standards.

  • Authorized to support and advise on recruitment, hiring and related HR processes within agreed frameworks.

  • Authorized to support operational HR compliance activities, including audits, benchmarking and compensation‑related input.

  • Authorized to support operational Health & Safety and wellbeing activities at local level.

  • Required to escalate complex, sensitive or high‑risk HR matters to the Head of HR.

What you bring

Educational background and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5 years relevant work experience, preferably from a HR generalist role gained in a dynamic, matrix and change oriented global organization with process complexity

  • Experience of preparing and undergoing internal and external HR audits

Skills and competencies

  • Strong knowledge of HR administration, recruitment processes, HRIS (Workday preferred)and Dutch labor law.

  • Basic knowledge of payroll processes.

  • Excellent communicator and relationship builder, with a collaborative, innovative, and growth-oriented mindset

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (fluent in Dutch and English, written and verbal).

  • Ability to manage a busy workload, adapt to changing priorities, and deliver on expectations.

  • Proactive, service-minded, and solution-driven mindset.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently and as part of a team.

  • High degree of confidentiality, accuracy and service orientation.

Key metrics

  • Timely talent acquisition within the allocated budget/compensation ranges

  • HR Administrative Accuracy: >95% accuracy in HR data and documentation.

  • Timely Delivery: HR tasks (contracts, changes, onboarding steps) completed within agreed timelines.

  • First‑Line Resolution: Majority of routine HR questions resolved without escalation.

  • Employee experience: e.g., eNPS.

  • Recruitment Support: Completion of HR coordination steps on time and accurate offer documentation.

  • Audit Readiness: Compliance documentation meets audit standards with no major findings.
