The R&D Hardware Section Manager is a key leadership role, with a direct impact on our technology roadmap and the continued growth of our business.

In this role, you will define and drive the technology strategy of the hardware discipline, in close collaboration with senior technical leaders, ensuring strong alignment with business objectives and product strategy. You will be accountable for delivering critical hardware assets across the product roadmap, while leading and developing a multidisciplinary team of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, fostering a strong can‑do mindset and a culture of innovation. You will champion the adoption of new technologies, design practices, and validation methodologies. You will also manage the entire R&D Lab operations—an essential engine for rapid development, rigorous validation, and product excellence.


Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading the HP AM ME, EE and Lab operations teams to deliver innovative products with quality and predictable budget and schedule.
  • Foster innovation and evolve discipline roadmaps and processes to deliver future technology roadmap maximizing customer & business value. Foster an innovative & data driven organization, boosting people growth with an agile & customer centric mindset, supporting continuous learning & development activities.
  • Transform HW development culture to ensure product excellence in performance, quality and cost, as well as to incorporate new design technologies. Identifies opportunities for process improvement and cost reductions, and recommends changes in alignment with business tactics and strategy.
  • Build a strong partnership with other business leaders and engineering teams to improve quality, efficiency, and agility for current products and new developments.
  • Work with your staff to deliver HW product development plans for products and applications, including resourcing, prioritization, schedules, and budget. Establish clear expectations, hold team members accountable and incentivize proactive issue resolution to deliver world class products on time and within budget.
  • Build a strong team with culture of ownership and growth mindset. Provide overall people-care management to direct reports, including hiring, setting, and monitoring of annual performance plans, coaching, and career development.


Education & Experience Recommended

  • Graduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically has 10+ years of job-related experience, including 3-5 years of management experience.
  • Experience in multiple functions or businesses is highly valued.
