CORE JOB SUMMARY
The Building Facility Coordinator oversees the physical, environmental, and security conditions of assigned facilities, including ongoing building and equipment maintenance. Moreover, an employee in this position assumes responsibility for space planning and allocation and ensures that operations continue efficiently and effectively without interruption.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Serves as the liaison between the University and outside vendors to evaluate facilities maintenance requirements and communicate and consult on potential resolutions.
2. Initiates and arranges for service and repairs and ensures that work is performed to specification and completed within agreed upon times.
3. Works with administrators to develop and maintain facility policies and procedures.
4. Coordinates routine inspections of the physical, environmental, and security conditions of the facilities.
5. Coordinates facility remodels, work space design, and office setups, and evaluates existing spaces for effectiveness.
6. Works with the University and outside officials to coordinate the evacuation of the assigned area due to fire alarms or other emergencies, and obtains clearance to re-occupy the facilities prior to allowing re-entry.
7. Assists with the implementation of disaster preparedness and recovery efforts.
8. Provides assistance in the preparation of the facilities management budget within assigned area, and monitors expenditures.
9. Analyzes maintenance agreements and makes recommendations regarding cost-effectiveness.
10. Controls access to facilities within assigned area by maintaining a building keying system and master keying record of all keys issued and retrieved.
11. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license

Experience:
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required

Certification and Licensing:
Refer to department description for applicable certification requirements
