Job Summary: You will serve as a Housing Administrative Assistant in the Housing Department of COMFLEACT YOKOSUKA. ***ACCESS TO MEDICAL AND DENTAL CARE IN JAPAN IS EXTREMELY LIMITED. Please see Additional Information section below.***

Major Duties:

  • You will perform duties of a receptionist to answer incoming phone calls, greet customers at the front desk, or refer them to appropriate Military Family Housing (MFH) counselors, off-base clerk interpreters, or supervisors depending on their needs.
  • You will record entries in the enterprise Military Housing (eMH) Reception Module as customers check in and make appointments for counselors or supervisors via the eMH Scheduler Module as required.
  • You will receive/review documents and forms for housing application, parking certificate, house guest pass request, waiver request, tour extension, Temporary Lodging Allowance (TLA) extension request, and Continued Logistic Support (CLS) requests.
  • You will record changes, additions and deletions daily in the eMH Reception Module.
  • You will prepare and update routine reports concerning housing occupancy, vacancy, placement, and other related activities for supervisor's review.
  • You will perform counseling of prospective and current residents with regards to rights, privileges, and responsibilities of residency as necessary.
  • You will maintain continuous housing occupancy records for each housing unit in the eMH Reception Module.
  • You will maintain continuous liaison with the Housing Facilities Management division and the Ikego Housing Site Office as well as other service commands such as Personnel Support Detachment (PSD), Public Works Department (PWD), etc.
  • You will brief and counsel applicants on leasing practices, standards of conduct, on availability of assistance in resolving complaints, and on deposits and responsibilities of residents in normal care of premises.
  • You will assist personnel requesting information on locating schools, shopping centers, churches, public transportation, hospitals and other community services.

Qualifications: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-04 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing administrative practices and methods relating to housing personnel support, to include preparation of routine correspondence, ability to research unusual requests, and provide general assistance to a housing management staff.
