To assist with the general cleaning of guestrooms, hallways and linen room to the established standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Reports for work punctually at scheduled time and in accordance with dress code and appearance standards.
Ensures that all tasks are performed to company standards.
Ensures baseboards in rooms are properly cleaned at all times.
Pulls furniture in rooms and vacuums behind them.
Removes soiled shower curtains and hangs after cleaning.
Collects soiled linen and garbage from room attendant’s carts and delivers to linen room and garbage disposal respectively. Replenishes carts as necessary.
Removes cobwebs in rooms and mop patios.
Vacuums in all day service and arrival rooms
Places Futon beds and cribs in guestrooms as may be requested. Changes in-room bedding configuration as needed.
Cleans sliding doors and tracks along with windows in guestrooms.
Turns all mattresses as scheduled.
Sweeps and mops patio and cleans railings, furniture, and cushions when needed.
Spot clean walls, doors and woodwork in rooms when necessary.
Sweeps and mops hallways in front of guestrooms.
Dusts and cleans all mirrors, high areas in rooms and doorframes.
Ensures that all equipment used by the houseman is properly functioning, ensuring that all malfunctions are reported to supervisor in a short period of time.
Attends training when requested during working hours, to ensure proper skills necessary to perform duties.
Has a sound knowledge of all hotel facilities and services.
Maintains a high standard of conduct and good working relationship with all staff and other departments.
Performs all reasonable duties requested by management.
General
Provide courteous and professional service at all times.
Reports for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name badge at all times. No earrings should be worn on Property, trousers length should be above the heel of shoes and only white T-shirts should be worn.
Ensures the working area is kept clean at all times.
Ensures a complete understanding of, and adhere to the policies within the Employee’s Handbook.
Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
Attends training when requested, to ensure proper skills necessary to perform duties.
Ensures that all equipment are properly functioning within the department, ensuring that all malfunctions are reported to your supervisor in a short period of time.
Attend meetings as requested.
Maintain a sound knowledge of the Company’s facilities and related services.
Adheres to the policies, procedures, condition and regulations as set out in the Company’s Employee Handbook.
Adheres to company’s fire and safety procedures.
Housemen are to have all cleaning solutions and equipment at all times.
All mops are to be cleaned after shift.
All cupboards are free and clean of all garbage and dirty linen.
