Description:
Applies proper healthcare cleaning and disinfecting practices, safe chemical use, and correct equipment handling.
Cleans and disinfects occupied rooms, discharge/transfer rooms, patient care areas, and assigned equipment.
Follows all infection prevention protocols, including hand hygiene, isolation precautions, and proper PPE use.
Removes and disposes of waste correctly, including medical, recyclable, solid, and hazardous waste.
Follows organizational safety, risk management, and infection control guidelines.
Assists in training new EVS team members through shadowing and task explanations.
Reports unsafe conditions or needed repairs promptly.
Maintains and properly uses cleaning carts, supplies, and EVS equipment.
Completes accurate documentation on time.
Participates in department improvement efforts, meetings, and team activities.
Offers feedback to improve patient safety, experience, and operations.
Performs specialty tasks such as conference room setup, cleaning stairwells/elevators, and hanging curtains.
Performs other duties as assigned, including alternate EVS responsibilities.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred; \ No experience required.
1-2 years of Customer Service, 1-2 years of Hospitality, and/or 1-2 years of Environmental Services experience preferred
