Position: Coordinator, Scheduler - Safety (Hourly)
Location: Hillview, KY
Salary: $29.10 per hour
Shift: 1st shift - with 2nd shift overlap, must be able to work overtime as needed.
ThermoSafe is seeking an enthusiastic and meticulous Hourly Coordinator, Scheduler with a strong emphasis on safety. This role is responsible for developing, scheduling, and monitoring production plans to ensure the efficient and safe manufacturing of our protective products, while strictly adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
What you will do:
- Develop and implement daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules based on sales forecasts, material availability, and production capacity, with a paramount focus on safety considerations.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to address unexpected delays, equipment malfunctions, or material shortages, always prioritizing safe workarounds.
- Collaborate closely with production teams, warehouse staff, and procurement to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and components, and to communicate any potential safety risks associated with material handling or storage.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods, contributing to a safe and organized inventory management system.
- Identify and mitigate potential production bottlenecks or inefficiencies, proposing solutions that enhance both productivity and workplace safety.
- Generate regular reports on production performance, adherence to schedules, and any safety incidents or near-misses observed during the planning and execution phases.
- Participate in safety meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of safety policies and procedures within the production environment.
- Ensure all planning activities comply with company safety standards, OSHA regulations, and other relevant industry safety guidelines.
- Communicate production plans and any safety-related updates effectively to all relevant departments and personnel.
We'd love to hear from you if:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field preferred.
- 2-4 years of experience in a production planning or scheduling role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated understanding and commitment to workplace safety principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using production planning software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles is a plus.
- Must be able to work flexible hours as needed to support production demands.
