  • May 1 from 3 pm to 8pm
  • May 3 from 10 am to 4pm

Location: at the Novotel Toronto Vaughan Centre Hotel (200 Bass Pro Mills Drive, Vaughan)

Our Hourly Line Cooks are an integral part of the team who provide an exceptional dining experience to each and every guest. Hourly Line Cooks have a range of responsibilities in the kitchen including strict adherence to health and safety guidelines, maintaining food stock levels throughout the day, and preparing meals consistent with company standards. If you thrive in an energetic, fast-paced and social atmosphere, this may be the opportunity for you!

In this role, your responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Daily set-up and preparation of food items in the pantry, fry and/or stations or other areas of the kitchen.
  • Following recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as instructed.
  • Restocking all items throughout the shift.
  • Cleaning, sanitizing, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas.
  • Adhering to all regulations including blood borne pathogens, infection control, use of hazardous materials and fire safety.
  • Performing additional responsibilities as requested by the chef or sous chef.

Qualifications:

This role may be a perfect fit for you if:

  • You have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • You have experience in a similar environment.
  • You have knowledge of methods and procedures for serving food, principles of sanitation and principles of safe food handling.
  • You have schedule flexibility to work extended hours as required.
  • A professional diploma or food services management is an asset but not required.
  • Provincially applicable sell, sale, and handling of alcohol certificate.

Work Conditions

  • This position will spend 100% of the time standing.
  • Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat and water.
  • Must be able to transport up to 50 pounds on occasion, and up to 35 pounds regularly.
  • Will be constantly exposed to high temperatures in the kitchen environment.
  • Manual dexterity required to use knives and kitchen appliances.
  • Extended hours as required.
