How You’ll Shine

As a Hotel Accountant, you will play an important role within our Hospitality Finance team, supporting the financial performance of our resort properties. You will work closely with both financial and operational leaders to ensure accurate financial reporting, maintain strong financial controls, and contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes.

This role offers a great opportunity to combine technical accounting skills with operational partnership, helping drive financial performance across our hospitality operations.

What You’ll Do

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Partner with financial and operational leaders to support the financial performance of nominated resort properties

  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial reporting and management packs

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statements in PeopleSoft, including payroll, revenue, intercompany and standard journal postings

  • Coordinate monthly SOX journal submissions in accordance with US compliance requirements

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and ongoing monthly forecasts

  • Maintain forecasting and budgeting models for supported properties

  • Prepare and maintain property cashbooks and post monthly cashbook journals

  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and ensure discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner

  • Reconcile intercompany accounts and ensure appropriate financial controls are in place

  • Assist with month-end processes, including posting adjustment journals and reviewing financial results

  • Prepare financial reports and statistical data, including GST, PIF and STR reporting

  • Prepare weekly and monthly consolidated debtor reports

  • Monitor and report on capital expenditure for nominated properties

  • Maintain audit trail integrity and assist with external audit queries

  • Build strong working relationships with Resort Managers and operational stakeholders

What You’ll Bring

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance

  • CPA or CA qualifications (or working towards) desirable but not essential

  • Experience in accounting within hospitality, property, or a services environment

  • Strong understanding of financial reporting and accounting controls

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet reporting deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience working with financial systems such as PeopleSoft or similar ERP platforms

  • Knowledge of Property Management Systems desirable

  • Exposure to trust accounting within a Management Rights business model highly regarded

  • The ability to build strong working relationships with operational stakeholders
